Escape from Ney York and Escape from L.A. , keep Kurt Russell

Taken, keep Liam Neisen

The Thing. Keep Kurt Russell

[–] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago

My family has discussed this specifically with LOTR for over a year now.

Keep Elijah Wood as Frodo. Kermit is Aragorn. Gandalf is Rolf the dog, has been a wizard before and can be Gandrolf. Arwen is Mrs Piggy. Sarumon is Sam the eagle Galadriel is Janice Eleond is Dr Teeth Rest of electric mayhem plays elves, except Animal, who plays the cave troll. Sweetums plays the Balrog Long Théoden is Fozzie Wormtongue is Statler and Woldorf.

We had more but these are highlights, and also the correct casting after much debate

Backdoor sluts 9.

The backdoor slut.

[–] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 1 points 2 hours ago

Im interested. Not for the sex. But because I'm curious to see how it will be done.

Will the puppet controller also be clothed? Will Miss Piggy have clothes stitched onto her skin or is it removable?

So many questions.

[–] purplemonkeymad@programming.dev 7 points 5 hours ago

Do the Muppets do Muppet things or are they doing the performances in the original style?

I feel I would like dredd with Karl urban and zero changes to his performance, but the Muppets doing silly stuff.

I Am Legend. Will Smith.

It would be an apocalypse where everyone was turned into a bloodthirsty muppet

[–] moncharleskey@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 hours ago

Why keep Will Smith when you can keep the dog? Ooh, if we are keeping Will Smith can we do I, Robot instead?

[–] Chiarottide@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

[–] ordellrb@lemmy.world 8 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Hot Fuzz, but keep Simon Pegg

[–] Hozerkiller@lemmy.ca 4 points 4 hours ago

Id like to make the argument for hot fuzz with either nick frost or david Bradley as the non-muppet. With an honorable mention to Peter Jackson because it would be funny to have the only real person be dressed as santa stabbing a muppet.

[–] mohab@piefed.social 5 points 7 hours ago

Brazil, keep Jonathan Pryce.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 12 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

[–] myster0n@feddit.nl 20 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

Watchmen. I don't know who I want as a human, but it won't be Fozziemandias.

[–] DiploRaucous@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago

Ironic that he isn't the Comedian.

[–] Xenny@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

Dr Manhattan is the only choice to stay the same but "human" is debatable. Rorschach is a runner up

[–] myster0n@feddit.nl 3 points 6 hours ago

I mean Beaker is the ideal candidate to be subjected to a laboratory mishap

Rocky Horror Picture Show: Channing Tatum or John Cena or something to play Rocky, everyone else is a Muppet. Because no human alive could ever replace Tim Curry, but we could maybe use all of Tim Curry's original work to voice a Muppet.

[–] Couldbealeotard@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

Have you seen The Happytime Murders? Might be what you're looking for.

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

This is actually doable with ai.

It would take a little while to do but it wouldn't be too onerous and could be done entirely with open source models and tools.

This is one of the best uses of the tech imo. Creating hilarious parodies of capitalist media.

[–] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Wow you managed to have the absolute worst take possible.

Part of the appeal of the Muppets is that it's all practical effects with real human interaction. Removing that just spits on ol Jim's corpse.

Second is that if you're so anti capitalist, you can't be pro AI. It's literally only owned by major corporations and is being used as a way to take even more means of production away from workers.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with you but you need to cut it out.

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 hours ago

I really don't know what's more anti capitalist than stealing content from literally every corporation that owns content to create software that is more often than not distributed for free that you can use however you see fit without them ever seeing a dime of it.

So when I download an open weights image generation model created by Facebook, that's even created from stolen content (they're among the worst offenders) for free, and run it on my own machine, to produce something that only and those I choose to share it with have access to....

Say I did this exact thing with the muppets and released it for free.

Do you think hiring paid actors and licensing the muppets and artists to create a real muppets movie that's then released only for those who will pay for it, for profit only, enriching the people that own this whole apparatus, is a more egalitarian take then doing it with ai and releasing it for free?

What, it's shitting on Jim Henson's Memory if something doesn't create profit?

And I NEED to breathe. I NEED to shit.

As far as what's wrong with me. I don't know. Understanding? Reason? Opposition to any system that profits off the backs of others' hard work?
