I think Iβm about halfway through Stray and love every minute.
Iβve also been playing Pokemon Emerald: Seaglass as a really gorgeous re-imagining of Emerald.

I really enjoyed Stray the world is gorgeous (in it's dingy apocalyptic way) and I enjoyed how they used the mechanics with a couple change ups to keep it interesting but not out-staying there welcome.
The ending I thought was really good.
For video games, I just beat silksong, which was super fun and pretty brutal. The art and music is phenomenal though, it's a great game. Working on Hades 2 right now, which is also fantastic and I'd recommend.
For board games I've been getting my group into the Heroes 3 board game. It's the biggest box I've ever seen for a game lol. It does a great job of feeling like the computer game while meeting the constraints of a board game, plus there's lots of bits to fiddle with. Downside is its huge, so you need a big table or a group comfortable playing on the floor.
100%'d Silksong, my game of the decade so far.
It took them seven years to make it. I doubt they will release another installment in five years so definitely GotD.
I'm a sucker for nostalgia and a believer of game preservation, and I managed to figure out, with some guides, how to setup my own private World of Warcraft server using AzerothCore. It only goes up to Wotlk but IMO, that's the best expansion anyway.
I've been using it currently to solo play the game with bots. Funny enough, the bots actually dodge fire! Lol. But since it has bots that means I can still do dungeon and raid content! And I don't have to deal with the stress of juggling a raid schedule. I can just play whenever I want, however long I want.
It does also have the option to be port forwarded to allow friends to join. But I don't have any good friends interested in that. And I don't want to make the server fully public for reasons.
Unfortunately, its very complicated to setup. So I highly recommend finding a guide before trying to install it. It does require setting up a virtual machine and running a bunch of scripts. So it can be a bit complicated for anyone who isn't tech savvy.
I've been playing only retro games lately and I just finished Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for a second time yesterday. Now I'm continuing playing the Fatal Frame saga on my ps2.
I picked up Icewind Dale again. It's one of my comfort games, along with several of the other Infinity Engine games. Still holds up.
Something always steals my attention away anytime I try and start that one up.
Someday.
To be fair, it's not terribly engaging (compared to the other games in the series). But if you're into dungeon crawls, it's fun.

You donβt have to be a OSRS fan to like it. Itβs just a solid open world rpg sandbox with dopamine infused achievements.
Oooooh, as someone that loves OSRS but finds it to be a bit too much of a time sink I'm very very intrigued. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
Playing Ghost of Yotei at the moment and absolutely loving it. Tsushima was an all timer for me so I'm happy for more.
I'm playing through an old PS2 title Radiata Stories. I don't get why this title is so overlooked! It's really fucking funny to play in 2025 cause its weirdly apt with nepotism, classism and going to war over wage theft (kinda, anyway).
I don't wanna spoil it though.
I started to play RE2: Remake somedays ago. Has been a struggle since I only have like 2 hours to play per day. Yesterday started the second part of the game with Claire, and man, I laugh my ass off because the fucking zombies doesn't let her take a breath.
I've been playing on void linux with GE-Proton10-15 (GE-Proton10-19 came out like 3 hours ago, for someone's information)
Damn I haven't played an RE game since probably RE6. I've always loved horror movies but I think I'm too much of a big baby to play horror games regularly.
I skipped RE6 and all of the RE: Revelations games. I can't play those games because I can't handle the action factor that they have. Still, the last RE games I played were RE7 and RE8. I loved them, especially 8.
Just finished SOMA a few years late. Asks some very good questions...
I loved Soma, so much existential angst.
I love the big revelations and how they are done. It's definitely a game which makes you think.
I also love that they put in the no deaths mode so you can ignore the monsters which whilst cool I don't think added much to the experience for me other than frustration trying to sneak past them.
I literally just finished the 3D remake of Final Fantasy 3 (PC version) before coming here. After I'm done here, I'm going to start playing Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe.
I also somewhat recently finished the original PC version of Doom 3 and it's expansion pack. I understand why people don't like it as much as Doom 1 and 2 but I still think the game was good.
Beyond all reason: itβs open source, itβs awesome, large explosions, it uses all of your cores, you can contribute to it, and join in progress.
Just finished my annual Far Cry 2 play through, and it was as chaotic and random as ever.
I picked up a thing that just now came out of early access, called The Farmer Has Been Replaced(). It's a Python coding game, you're given a grid-based farm and a drone that runs Python code you write for it to plant, water, harvest etc. crops. It's a decent little coding exercise, not the worst way to learn Python.
After 6 years, Sekiro finally clicked with me and I got all 4 endings for it within few weeks.
I'm playing frostpunk again. Trying to win on ultra hard. But I recommend everyone on Lemmy play citizen sleeper. Best story I've ever played.
Just finished Sunderfolk with a group of friends and my wife. Also finished Expedition 33 (and I'll never stop talking about it).
I'm about halfway through Dodgeball Academy and Chants of Sennaar. They're a fun little distraction before I dig into Blue Prince and Hades
King's Reign has been fun, deck builder Roguelike where you play soldier cards and they combo while marching left to right along a board with three lanes.
just picked up fallout 4 goty
works beautifully (for me, ~40 fps) with ultra settings @1440p on my thinkpad with igpu :)
I genuinely dont know if luddo is a global game? Does everyone know of luddo?
Ludo? I haven't played that since I was a tiny kid! I can't say I remember much about how it's played.
Very basic dice game. Keep moving until you get home. Can capture others pieces too.
Never heard of it, but, I am dumb...
Its a board game. Ideally 4 players. 3 can do it too. 2 is not fun imo.
Try it. Theres active website and apps for it too.
Its so basic that it will take under a minute to learn and 2 games to master
I played Blue Prince for a long time, currently taking a break because it's incredibly mentally taxing.
Been playing the Iron Oath a lot lately. It's a tactics game with permadeath and feels D&D inspired, it has a few issues but nothing game-breaking.
Board games, I'm always playing Betrayal at House on the Hill, but we also tried Call to Adventure recently and that was pretty fun, would like to give it another go and get the hang of it.
Rdr1 which is what got me in the series (and also into spaghetti westerns).
Unfortunately I'm dealing with a bug that's hiding all my wolf pelts so I can't sell them, and asking on reddit just gets me downvoted for whatever fucking reason.
The next game I'm gonna try is Night in the Woods, I heard some good things about it.
Tabletop ?
Alice is missing is a must play if you're into Narrative RPG, but currently playing a Coriolis campaign, the popular space RPG by free league
I recently sat down with Baroque, the cult classic dungeon crawler for the Sega Saturn. Very good, top 20 games for me now!
First off, play the Saturn version. You can liberally rebind the controls in an emulator to make them feel a lot more like a modern FPS (d-pad up & down to left analog up/down for forward and backward movement with L & R to left analog left/right for strafing while putting d-pad left & right on right analog left/right for turning. Also rebind attack to R1 or R2 and map to whichever you didn't bind attack to). Use scanline shaders, something like crt-royale or just hyllian-fast. Under the hood this game is a fairly standard mystery dungeon style roguelike but it's ALL about the vibes.
The story is opaque but advances simply by doing runs through the dungeon. Make sure to talk to all the NPCs and do what they tell you to/fulfill their requests and you'll figure it out. The gameplay is simple but the player movement is fast and smooth enough as well as hits having decent enough feedback when connecting with an enemy that it avoids feeling too much like a clunky old game. The weird monsters, gnawing on bones, and using torture devices really sell the atmosphere. A+ soundtrack, IMHO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRXUEH0ijdk&list=PLfhw8A1mg64H1MVWcSPocp6qaaQoiOAJo
TIP: Throw stuff at stuff. Experiment by throwing all the things at all the things. Throwing is a big mechanic in this game, don't sleep on it. Throw things at sense spheres to teleport them out of the dungeon so you can guarantee them for your next run. Here's an adorable Neocities fanpage for if you really get stuck, https://nervetower.neocities.org/guide
I'd skip the PS2/Remake, the vibes are all wrong and again, this is just a good game to spend some time with and soak in the bleak world they created. The PS1 version is pretty similar to Saturn but I think honestly the Saturn just nails the atmosphere a bit better.
I just started Cryptmaster today and itβs even better than I was anticipating!
Itβs charming, wryly funny, and the art style is incredible. Itβs as close to a lighthearted D&D session in tone Iβve experienced and I adore it.
Got it in a pick-your-own bundle alongside Megβs Monster which Iβve yet to play but still excited! Havenβt regretted it yet.
I just booted up my Project Ozone 3 Minecraft server again. Thats fun. Sword of the Sea is also great, recent release by Giant Squid.
Finally got around to playing Devotion by Red Candle Games. It's a super good horror game, but without getting into spoilers, I absolutely would NOT recommend this to parents, holy shit. Shame that the CCP bombed this game into obscurity, the devs did not deserve this.
I'm trying to play different genres to see what's out there, and have found some neat little games in the sale steam just had.
Nocturnals - This one was great. The game is obviously made by people who don't have a team of a hundred artists under them, but they did a really good job crafting the story. It's short, but has multiple endings, and I haven't found all of them yet.
Digging a Hole - This one made me chuckle. It's motherload from the miniclip era of website gaming, but in 3D. Wouldn't spend a ton on it, but if it goes on sale it will be amusing for you. Still haven't completed the speedrun challenge for it. First time took me about 12 hours, while the challenge is 30 minutes.
Roguebook - in the same 'universe' as faeria, which I enjoyed. It's basically slay the spire with different themes and a more punishing/variable path to the boss.
and, finally my favorite right now: Young Souls - it just has a really fun visual appearance and gameplay. I've been surprised by how much I struggled with some of the fights. I haven't beaten it yet, but the story has some of the classic elements, but the writers put some thought into their tropes and made the characters more than just shallow pictures playing a part.
I played Clue for the first time yesterday! Super fun.
Replayed Alan Wake and Control, now playing Alan Wake 2. The stories are so well written and interesting
