And I’m absolutely disgusted that health insurance premiums will DOUBLE if the tax credits expire this year.

Not a single Republican in leadership talked to us about this or has given us a plan to help Americans deal with their health insurance premiums DOUBLING!!!

It's almost like Marj is waking up to the fact that her Republican Party is full of Republicans.

[–] CatDogL0ver@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

So the bottom line is she says no. She turns her back on us!

She voted for it. THREE TIMES!!

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 82 points 1 day ago (1 children)

BUT this time her own children are facing the premium hikes. That makes everything totally, completely different.

[–] the_q@lemmy.zip 37 points 1 day ago (4 children)

She has kids? That's gotta suck for them.

[–] ikidd@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

I wonder how long the whelpings took.

[–] TheGoldenV@lemmy.world 30 points 1 day ago

Thoughts and prayers.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It sucks for everyone that her parents had kids.

I'm sure she will take this opportunity to reflect and grow as a person.

Only because her kid is turning 26 and getting off her insurance plan. R’s dont care about anyone but themselves or their own family. And that 26 is a benefit from Obama so she should fucking thank him for these extra years while she’s at it

Changing her grift or actually trying to serve her constituency? Curious to see her going rogue like this. Love me some conservative infighting.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 13 hours ago

No she's literally just trying to serve her own adult children. She said so herself.

I've always had the sense that MTG is sincere, but incredibly stupid.

[–] JandroDelSol@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

she's sincere, she just wholly believes all the conspiracies about Jews, and she is really fucking antisemetic

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

She is not sincere, and she is bone fide intellectually disabled.

[–] tomenzgg@midwest.social 2 points 13 hours ago

Let's not throw the intellectually disabled under the bus, like that; many of the people with Down's I've met are, hand over fist, better people than MTG has ever managed to be.

[–] orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 day ago

Why not both?

Did more of the Epstein Files get released recently? Did it have any effect?

People who don't like Republicans already know, people who do wouldn't listen or care.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 20 points 1 day ago

Not that I'm ever going to vote for or say anything good about her, but hey, every little bit helps.

[–] thegr8goldfish@startrek.website 9 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Also, I think health insurance and all insurance is a scam, just be clear!

What even is her position here? She is against single payer and against insurance companies. Does she want us paying for everything out of pocket?

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 13 hours ago

The actual answer is that she doesn't hold any position.

[–] miraclerandy@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Best guess is that she’s frustrated with the amount you pay versus what you get back. And honestly she’s not wrong but probably mad at the wrong at the wrong people.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

Obviously she doesn’t want to pay for everything out of pocket.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If I learned nothing else from Alien: Earth, it’s that…

Tap for spoiler…we’re gonna have to enlist the help of some unsavory characters to defeat the billionaires.

[–] Kayday@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Spoiler for the Alien franchise: the 1% is bad, mkay?

[–] Sideshow_B00b@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

Don’t do hypercapitalism hmmkay?

Oligarchy is bad hmmkay?

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago
[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

I don't care what she says. She's scum. It's mostly self-serving lies.

If she starts actually voting more intelligently, let me know.

[–] andyburke@fedia.io 6 points 1 day ago

She is getting closer to waking up. Still screeching about illegals and foreigners and not the wealth hoarders, though...

If she wants the bill passed, she better get to the insurance companies and get them to lower premiums themselves.
