I glanced the article for the higher resolution image and thought: "wait, is that a stink bug? Is that toddler's entire family about to regret existence?"

How else do you science as a toddler?
if putting it in your mouth is off the table, noses and ears are still available.
I believe it goes in this order: look > grab > shake > taste > throw
From memory these smell/taste a bit like millipedes/moth balls.
