The creepy elf on a shelf has a very weird idea of what is moral.

Checks notes...oh, he's one of those performative jackass xtians. Completely expected, I guess.

[–] Uranus_Hz@lemm.ee 13 points 15 hours ago

It’s moral to kill Nazis.

[–] heyWhatsay@slrpnk.net 16 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

It's moral to throw him off a moving train.

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 28 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Christianity is nothing more than a cudgel for these people.

What verse is this if you remember off hand?

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

My comment started with Matthew 25:41, but it’s worth going back to 25:31 for the rest of the passage. The sheep and the goats; the wheat and the chaff.

Not a Christian, but I want to live my life like the sheep. I think this is the most powerful passage ever written. Matthew has my favorite Jesus.

congress first

[–] doingthestuff@lemy.lol 18 points 20 hours ago

Is it moral to deny Medicaid to people who earned $5 too much? Because that's what we've been doing forever. The benefit cliff intencentivises people to stay in poverty.

[–] wanderwisley@lemm.ee 6 points 16 hours ago

I think it’s moral to throw Mike off the top of the tallest building we can find.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 12 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

When Christians use the word "moral" it's specifically because they know what they are describing isn't "ethical"

We need to ban the religious indoctrination of children, because they turn into adults who hear the word moral from con men and assume they're an ally.

[–] Rekorse@sh.itjust.works 3 points 9 hours ago

I believe some nations ban religion for those under a certain age. As in they aren't allowed in public places of worship like churches and mosques.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 9 points 18 hours ago

Cut off his medical, then.

[–] WoodScientist@sh.itjust.works 7 points 18 hours ago

Well, I insist it's "moral" to throw Mike Johnson off a bridge.

I personally won't be doing it, but there's nothing immoral about it in my book.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 13 points 20 hours ago

Very Christian of you Mike

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 24 points 23 hours ago (5 children)

I would say that a visitation from Saint Luigi would be moral.

The evil Keebler elf.

[–] TheDeadlySquid@lemm.ee 8 points 22 hours ago

I say it’s moral to kick this guy in the balls as hard as you can.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 5 points 20 hours ago

Sure if you're a god damn Nazi and/or a Christian.

[–] johnpmac@lemm.ee 14 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I’ve been writing a tune called “ Mike Johnson gives the world’s worst blowjobs, and he makes his son watch”. It may or may not be about the same my.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 3 points 20 hours ago

I changed it to paint jobs:

Johnson grabs his brush with pride, But colors run and lines collide, Walls look like a wild parade, The world’s worst paint job ever made.

(Verse 2) His son watches, eyes so wide, Learning how not to paint inside, Drips and splatters on the floor, A masterpiece of messy lore.

(Verse 3) One day maybe he’ll get it right, Till then they laugh through every sight, Johnson’s art, a funny crime, A painted tale for all of time.

[–] Deflated0ne@lemmy.world 4 points 23 hours ago

Make a deepfake of his son singing it and post it on Facebook.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 13 points 1 day ago

Meanwhile I have to declare bankruptcy because I can't afford groceries.

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Holy shit, Peter David wrote some of my favorite Star Trek novelizations. In 1997, I moved to a new area just before my junior year of high school. My new school was massive and I was an introvert who wasn't great at making friends. But somehow I ended up hanging out with a few fellow Star Trek fans, who introduced me to his new series, Star Trek: New Frontier (thank you Regina!). It got me through the rest of high school!

I'm sorry to hear what happened to him. :(

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

That series looks interesting, I may have to give it a shot. Thanks for the rec.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

Mike also believes it’s moral to watch porn with his son. So this is unsurprising.

[–] ABetterTomorrow@lemm.ee 13 points 1 day ago

It’s moral to kick him in the teeth

[–] TipRing@lemmy.world 117 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ah yes, I remember that part of the Bible where Jesus healed the sick, but only if they weren't dirty freeloaders.

[–] Bakkoda@sh.itjust.works 57 points 2 days ago

And Jesus walked into the temple and handed each money lender a Benjamin and a teener and said "Fuck the poor!"Amen.

[–] TommySoda@lemmy.world 76 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Every time I see that man's shit eating grin I get so mad. Especially because I know he loves every second of destroying other peoples lives.

TIL Peter David was flat broke, disabled as fuck, but was still kicked off Medicaid.

It looks like he was lucky enough to still be getting care. The problem is that his medical bills were so high that his family was at risk of becoming homeless.

His wife has been struggling to get a job that pays a living wage, and his daughter has been struggling to get an entry level role. Sadly, this is a very American story, and if he wasn’t lucky enough to have so many fans, things would be even darker for his family.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Wiliam Messner Loebs is in the same boat, elderly, poor health, one arm, living with his ill wife in their car, delivering sandwiches for cash. :(

Thankfully no longer the case according to his Patreon account:

https://www.patreon.com/billmessnerloebs

I would find it ‘moral’ to throw Mike off something, as well.

[–] Sanctus@lemmy.world 51 points 2 days ago

Its a moral imperative that we provide healthcare to each other. Mike Dick over here wouldnt know shit about civility.

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 35 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Then he should start with his own government all-paid healthcare.

Well, you see, he's not an unborn child, so it's fine. 🫠

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago

It is moral to destroy the cancer that festers among us.

[–] BigMacHole@lemm.ee 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm a Republican on Medicaid who thinks This is the WRONG DECISION but I would RATHER LITERALLY DIE OF PREVENTABLE CAUSES then to Vote for someone who ISNT a REPUBLICAN!

If one's morality is focused solely on making the rich richer...

[–] OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago

Sure Mike, it's fine with you, your insurance covers it whenever you get an eye full of santorum
