The wife of a wrongly deported Salvadoran father living in Maryland was moved to a safe house after Donald Trump’s administration posted a court document that included her address on social media.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s wife Jennifer Vasquez Sura said she began fearing for her safety and the safety of her three children after the Department of Homeland Security shared a protective order from 2021 that prominently featured her address to the department’s 2.4 million followers on X.

“I don’t feel safe when the government posts my address, the house where my family lives, for everyone to see, especially when this case has gone viral and people have all sorts of opinions,” she told The Washington Post. “So, this is definitely a bit terrifying. I’m scared for my kids.”

JFC - even his wife is saying that the protection order was due to an isolated incident and that it isn't justification to deport him. Which it isn't, because it's not a conviction. It's just a court order. They still have ZERO evidence that he was involved in a gang. They're just poisoning the well.

if people were serious about stopping this dystopia they would be armed and calling all others to do the same.

Would be a shame if every DHS employee got doxxed, tho, wouldn't it?

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Imagine what the dems would do.... Nothing.

[–] RedditRefugee69@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 2 hours ago

Finally we can weaponize their laziness!

[–] barnaclebutt@lemmy.world 68 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

I hope she can sue them, and maybe get a new house out of it. Fucking barbarians.

[–] refurbishedrefurbisher@lemmy.sdf.org 41 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Sure, but who's going to enforce the ruling?

[–] Hikuro93@lemmy.world 12 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

Best hope is for her to survive until this regime is toppled, how long that takes, and then seek compensation. Same for Mr. Garcia and any other wrongfully affected person.

Sadly the key here is really holding on and surviving these savages and their cult, but even in other countries, while 'safer' it's still not a complete guarantee. Hopefully they do evade the fascism and find some good samaritans along the way. 🤞

Coupled with other recent actions by the White House and DHS I'd say it's very reasonable to file this under stochastic terrorism. They know the likely violent outcome, they are hoping for that outcome, but they're doing it under a guise of "just sharing information" with "a concerned public" whom are "under attack".

DT is literally a sick and broken man who has hired self serving sycophants to make him feel powerful. Just like every cult leader who came before him.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 15 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Steven Miller is part of this too. He’s a fucking hateful racist and most likely responsible for much of this.

But really it’s the whole Republican administration and congress who are responsible. Don’t let them forget.

As a person that doesn't live in the US I can't imagine our relationship becoming whole until each and every one of these people sees justice, vigilante if needed.

There's no Bidening out of this with aisle reaching foot dragging "let's move past it" bullshit.

I know my opinion doesn't matter, but I hope it gives some perspective.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Took me a few seconds to realize you meant donald trump, and not Domestic Terrorism

[–] pomfegranate@sh.itjust.works 21 points 10 hours ago (3 children)

I'm sorry what was DHS and acronym for?

[–] RedditRefugee69@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 2 hours ago

DHS is the Department of Homeland Security, formed after 9/11 to ostensibly prevent terrorism as the glue between the FBI and CIA who kinda competed (and as a result, dropped the ball with 9/11), now apparently being used to target political opponents.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 hours ago

It's some kind of fascist doublespeak that only a fool would take seriously.

[–] Prandom_returns@lemm.ee 22 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Department of Homeland Security? Probably. I really thought it's the parcel service.

What do you expect from the 4chan government?

[–] WhatYouNeed@lemmy.world 6 points 6 hours ago

Was there any major revelations from the hacked 4chan data?

[–] 18107@aussie.zone 76 points 13 hours ago (5 children)

The only reason I'm not attributing this to malice is because incompetence is certain.

[–] SkyeStarfall@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 hours ago

Who cares at this point, they're doing evil, treat it as such

[–] thedruid@lemmy.world 18 points 9 hours ago
[–] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 119 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

No this is certainly malice. She's being punished for fighting back against the obviously illegal shit the government is doing. They're trying to make an example out of the family.

[–] ovalofsand@lemmy.world 17 points 10 hours ago

It's likely malice. But the truth is it doesn't matter. Because it happened. There are a lot of people who are very close to not being able to get off the MAGA wagon anymore before shit really hits the fan.

Trump destroys everything he touches. This is going to go very badly for a lot of people

[–] Mihies@programming.dev 39 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

Why not not all of them: terrorism, malice and incompetence.

[–] Atherel@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 8 hours ago

Fascism, the word you're looking for is fascism

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 4 points 11 hours ago

prolly all of them, you're right.

[–] Blinsane@reddthat.com 13 points 9 hours ago

That's the problem with "conservatives". You can never be 100% sure whether they are evil och just stupid. That uncertainly acts like protection for them.

[–] commitme@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

Fred Clark’s Law

[–] cyborganism@lemmy.ca 74 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

Ever day it gets fucking worse. I'm so sick of this world. Here in Canada we have the conservatives trying to push a similar agenda and similar laws and its unfathomable that, after what we're seeing in the States, that people still want to vote for that.

I don't think I want to go on in such a world. Unless people start getting violent against these intolerant psychopaths, I don't think there's any hope of them ever backing down. Our freedom is at stake here. We can't let them go on like this.

[–] Blinsane@reddthat.com 14 points 9 hours ago

In the end. They need votes. And they target the weak and stupid. Remind your elders that they will go straight into a bad home if they vote conservative. Try to get your friends and family off facist owned social media. That weirdo at work getting uppety because he feels the winds are turning in his favour? Point out in front of everyone every time he repeats a conservative lie. Never let anything slide.

[–] KaRunChiy@fedia.io 25 points 12 hours ago

I think we underestimated how many people live to see others suffer

[–] RejZoR@lemmy.ml 62 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

Current US administration consists entirely of absolute clowns who can't stop leaking sensitive information.

[–] Rogue@feddit.uk 18 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

It's absolutely intentional. They've chosen to publicly terrorise this one person so that all minorities fear the government.

They're also sending out letters to any minority they can basically saying "leave now or you're next". It's a vile tactic but the right wing base are absolutely loving the cruelty.

[–] albert180@piefed.social 12 points 10 hours ago

As if this wasn't on purpose

[–] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 12 points 12 hours ago

Sounds like something a pathetic MAGAt would do to a vulnerable person.
