I'm sorry. I hope your air fryer gets better soon.

I prefer my air to be either roasted or boiled but nothing wrong with frying it of course. doggirl-thumbsup

Capitalists finally learned how to market an appliance to breatharians. catgirl-smug

These things can turn stale grocery store croissants into decadent gourmet pastries with that air frying voodoo.

Everything. I like french fries, seconding breaded/fried things from your local store's frozen section. Pizza slices are legit (400 for 3-5min, similar for air fryed toast). Vegetables also go well haven't seen one not. Its great at reheating fast food, and if you have a silicone mat it works well at reheating most left overs, I especially enjoy fried rice or double fried eggrolls, then you're like frying it a third time.

I was thinking about eggroles we have a stupid good deal on them right now.

I'll take some home from work tomorrow and try that

[-] Nakoichi@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

No idea never had one. Gonna try it out tonight.

Idk, maybe some tempura?

leftover pizza. leftover frozen pizza as well. makes them taste like they're from a stone oven

I love baked potatoes but it's too hot to use the stove in the summer. Crispy tofu is a favorite around here as well

Grab some of the high protein tofu from Trader Joe's, cube it, toss it with cornstarch, garlic powder, some salt, and black pepper. Toss again with some oil, then chuck it in the air fryer and make it nice and crispy. Toss with teriyaki sauce or sriracha honey or buffalo and enjoy.

I also got an air fryer. My folks basically just got it for me cause it was super cheap. I've got some frozen fries to attempt and I guess I'll work my way out from there

Update on mine! Glad I didn't burn my house down! Pre heated it, pulled out the thingy and it turned out under the grill the was a slip of cardboard. So now it's cooling down so I can get to that

[-] Beaver@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago

Start sticking things in it and see what happens. Don't overpack it, the air needs to convect.

Piece of bread, butter or oil and garlic powder for the lamest craving fix for garlic bread

[-] JustSo@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago

I do my lamest garlic bread by just taking raw garlic and rubbing it on the buttered toast. I'mma try your way though cuz I have garlic powder now for the first time in ages.

[-] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

If you can, get some garlic scapes and chop em up fine. Super easy and perfect g bread with some kinda grease

[-] Des@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago

they are surprisingly useful. if we can ever afford to get rid of our old oven i want a (not smart) one with a built in convection fan

makes great crispy broccoli and sprouts. and home fries

[-] JustSo@hexbear.net 4 points 1 week ago

Hell yea. I love my airfryer.

No useful advice to give because I'd hate to accidentally reveal I'm a disgusting carnist.

[-] MineDayOff@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago

Best way to reheat pizza. Although you're going to have to get a handle on the settings because a lot of times they are a lot hotter than you think and you can burn your s***

[-] TheDrink@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

hell yeah I got a sandwich press that I'm totally gonna use

[-] Assian_Candor@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

Brussels sprouts are goat in these things

Cut them in half, if they're the big ones parboil them for ~3 mins then toss them in oil, salt and pepper then fry at 400 until they're crispy, about 15 mins or so, mixing them up halfway through ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I still don't understand what makes an airfryer different from a convection oven
