I like looking at pictures of older bears because it makes me feel like there's a future and I found out that these two dudes were trans AND had been together for more than 20 years and it made me happy cry. So here you go!

Great find! Kinda makes me sad not knowing how many of these amazing people we have lost on the way there, but reading their stories makes it pretty clear that fighting against transphobia is always a worthy cause and never a distracion from "normal people issues". trans-hammer-sickle

Idk if you'd be interested but in a similar vein, episode 89 of Trillbilly Workers Party is an interview with Rachel Garringer about her oral history project Country Queers. Kind of tangential to this topic, but very similar in that it is a collection of first hand accounts of (mostly) older queer folks, but with a focus on those in rural areas. There is also a book and a stand alone podcast as well if you'd rather not listen to the TWP interview, but that was my exposure to the project.

Oh I'll definitely check that out! I used to listen to them every once in a blue moon but stopped after Tanya had to go into hiding.

Right on! Yeah I definitely miss her moderating influence on the boys when they're being silly lol

Lol. Looks like about 50 is the youngest. She finished the project in 2017 though.
