Goddamn Americans can only understand morality if it's a burger.

They clearly don't, cause they're still eating the burger

We can make the burger be vegan after we buy it.

I got another one where that came from: Maybe the burger is actually secretly vegan, but they're just not advertising it that way because they don't want to turn off meat eaters.

I thought about this example but I really wanted to emphasize the similarity of the options. That said, if you go by what people actually say to vegans this is probably more accurate.

One of my favourite r/enlightenedcentrism posts was when someone shared a burger paddy that was 50% TVP and 50% beef, and then centrists came out of the woodwork to say things like "well it would reduce meat consumption by 50%" etc

You know what else would reduce meat consumption by 50%?! And also reduce it by the other 50%?

Look, just get the hamburger without the cheese. Getting anything other than a hamburger is the same as getting a cheeseburger. This is literally the most important decision since we came here last time, when you also had to get a hamburger. And the time before, when you ordered the hamburger like you were told but still got stuck with the cheeseburger
