Can it be soundproof as well?

You can have airtight or in the sea... not both.

[-] HappycamperNZ@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

I have 3 ton of lead that says otherwise.

[-] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Maybe carbon fiber? /s

He’ll look so weird and weak all barricaded behind all that bulletproof glass, and he’ll hate it— awesome

[-] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I think he personally requested this. There are reports that he's really rattled by the event, and regularly watches a recording of it "over and over again".

That… doesn’t seem consistent with what we know of Trump… although, it sounds like a predictable deflection by his handlers to make him seem more personable, more… human.

A narcissist like Trump would continue to believe he’s invincible and is the one insisting on these huge, open rallies to begin with. They feed his ego, and he can’t live without them. So, the Secret Service has compromised with his campaign to only allow them if he’s as shielded as the Pope any time he’s in an open public space.

And, no matter who tries to convince him, he refuses to believe that a lot of capable people very well may make another attempt against his life.

It's theatre. Because he thinks he's important.

[-] ExtremeDullard@lemmy.sdf.org 22 points 2 months ago

For extra safety, I'd replace the bulletproof glass panes with steel sheets.

[-] leftzero@lemmynsfw.com 10 points 2 months ago

Six of them, to make sure he's protected from all sides.

And weld them together for extra reinforcement. Airtight, to protect him from gas attacks.

Seriously. The reports of him having PTSD are clearly true. Couldn't happen to a worse dude.

[-] Snapz@lemmy.world 15 points 2 months ago

Bans guns and hides in a pope mobile, while telling people "The democrats are hiding and they want to ban your guns!!!"

[-] ArmokGoB@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 2 months ago

I'm surprised people are still using guns for this and not just flying a drone packed with explosives.

[-] HeavyRaptor@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 months ago

There is probably a lot of high tech jamming and EW equipment used by the secret service

[-] BruceTwarzen@lemm.ee 9 points 2 months ago

They saw a shooter climbing on a roof and were like: hah, that's interesting. And now you're telling me the use some high tech equipment to prevent assassination by drones. Riiiight.

[-] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Ai copilot? Wouldn't do much against an emp, I suppose.

[-] ArmokGoB@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago

Get it going on a ballistic trajectory out of range of the target and then it doesn't matter if it gets jammed.

[-] Quetzalcutlass@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

This sounds like artillery with extra steps.

[-] ArmokGoB@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

There is no report when you launch a drone, unlike when you fire a mortar. Also, flying a drone is a lot safer and more consistent than trying to fire and aim a homemade mortar.

[-] Umbrias@beehaw.org 2 points 2 months ago

that is called a missile, not a drone. no consumer uav are doing what you are suggesting, and different uav respond to jamming in a huge variety of ways.

[-] ArmokGoB@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

I know most consumer drones land automatically if they lose connection. Anyone that is trying to raw dog a plot like this with an unmodified drone they pulled off the shelf from Best Buy is a special type of idiot.

[-] HeavyRaptor@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

You're right that it is a stationary target, probably doable by image recognition, even with GPS jamming. Still, bit more sophistication required than just strapping a grenade to a dji.

[-] randombullet@programming.dev 1 points 2 months ago

But you could use an optical guided drone. Oh wait it's a TOW. We're using TOWs again.

[-] toddestan@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago

For your typical loner right wing nutjob, guns are still way more accessible.

This is why we've been sending ukrania so much money. /s

And after telling mass shooting victims to just get over it.

[-] quicklime@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

Nothing says "everybody loves me!" better than surrounding oneself with bulletproof materials 🤣

[-] Wahots@pawb.social 7 points 2 months ago

If your takes are so bad that you are at a high risk of being domed by your own crowds, why bother even running?

[-] 0laura@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 months ago

first we got the Pope mobile and now we get the trump cage? epic

[-] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

He finally got his walls!
