"This guy sucks and everyone knows it and his brain doesn't work, vote for him"

[-] Adkml@hexbear.net 25 points 3 months ago

Seriously generally after listing bad things about a person you throw in a couple positive ones if you argument is that they're a positive overall.

Look he sucks, can't complete a sentance and is probablly gonna die but he's the best candidate because I said so.

What happened to bernie in 2020 broke me in a big way, like "i dont believe in the efficacy of democracy anymore" broke - but I knew he was irrelevant the second his campaign ended, and this does kind of affirm that.

I enjoy the back-handedness of what he's saying, it's like perfunctory and absolutely a non-defense of biden, but it just depresses me that this jackass isn't president instead and every time he speaks it just reminds me that democracy is fake and that all the insufferable buzzkill anti-electoralists were completely right about goddamn everything

That's why most of us on our this site now

[-] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 18 points 3 months ago

Reminder that liberal democracy does not hold a monopoly on the concept of democracy. There are genuine democracies out there, such as in Cuba.

[-] CommCat@hexbear.net 15 points 3 months ago

bourgeois democracy, democracy can't work under capitalism

[-] ShimmeringKoi@hexbear.net 6 points 3 months ago

It's okay, if he'd gotten in as president he'd be even more compromised and would set back socialism for decades

"He is the best candidate the Democrats have for a variety of reasons" is such an amazing own against the Democrats that it's hilarious how it keeps getting repeated.

[-] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 28 points 3 months ago

"The best we've got is the senile fossil that's committing genocide right now and has supported everything that's made this country into the shithole it currently is for half a century. Anyway, vote for us or democracy ends or something, this is The Most Important Election Of Our Lifetime™️."

[-] FourteenEyes@hexbear.net 6 points 3 months ago

Maybe what Bernie is actually doing is malicious compliance to assist in the total destruction of the Democratic party punished-bernie

[-] nat_turner_overdrive@hexbear.net 46 points 3 months ago

I am asking you once again to vote for the genocider with alzheimers wearing the blue tie

I'm not aware that anyone thinks that Joe Biden is the best candidate in the history of the world, or that he's an ideal candidate

Is this guy for real? There's a whole entourage of delusional Blue MAGA Biden stans out there who literally believe that he has delivered on all the things he promised and that he is the most successful president ever.

Also, fuck off Bernie.

[-] Rojo27@hexbear.net 41 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

How it started: He's the most progressive candidate since FDRbernie

How its going: Look he's not perfect, but he's all we've gotflattened-bernie

[-] Speaker@hexbear.net 40 points 3 months ago

There's definitely one thing that's progressive about him, and it explains his trouble with names and sentences.

what a presidential response.

[-] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 7 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Well, not to split hairs or anything, but for the last eight years (and next four lol), that's actually an accurate description of a presidential response.

[-] underisk@hexbear.net 2 points 3 months ago

yes. he sounds just like his good friend, Joe Biden.

for a variety of reasons

When your essay is due tomorrow and you still can't think of any examples to prove your point

[-] adultswim_antifa@hexbear.net 28 points 3 months ago

He works so hard for the democratic party that has screwed him over at every opportunity.

[-] HamManBad@hexbear.net 6 points 3 months ago

He gets to be chairman of the health committee and play act real power in the capital of empire! He's living large, look how much he gets to be on TV!

[-] came_apart_at_Kmart@hexbear.net 25 points 3 months ago

I want to see what falls out of the pinata when "unprecedented" actions occur within the democratic party.

maybe I am naive, but I don't see how it could get anymore shitty or undemocratic than the ossified coronation & pageantry machine that it is today.

monkeywrench this thing and let it die or change radically.

[-] quarrk@hexbear.net 4 points 3 months ago

Whatever precedent the DNC has is the opposite of what should happen

[-] edge@hexbear.net 25 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

He's the best candidate the Democrats have for a variety of reasons.

I keep hearing that but I never hear what those reasons are.

And if brain melting genocide Joe is the absolute best candidate in the whole party, the party is pretty fucked, even beyond this election.

I swear Democrats are still operating on trauma from the 1968-1988 elections. They tried someone they considered slightly further left? He lost so we can't do that again. They had the sitting president drop out? His replacement lost so we can't do that again. They're so focused on that time period that they don't look at what caused their recent losses. It's not even about ideology or protecting capital or whatever, they could just swap in another ghoul. There's no good reason to keep Biden other than "we lost the last time we did it (never mind that that was 56 years ago)".

Also they use "unprecedented" as a crutch, as if unprecedented means bad. Unprecedented actions can be good strategies but they don't want to believe that.

[-] Wertheimer@hexbear.net 19 points 3 months ago

The NYT and friends drive me crazy with this.

[-] Tomorrow_Farewell@hexbear.net 12 points 3 months ago

He's incompetent. What else do you want from the head of NATO short of active self-sabotage?

[-] quarrk@hexbear.net 8 points 3 months ago

If things aren’t going well, that’s exactly when you do things differently! That’s the whole point!

Therapist: You should try this new thing

Me: Sorry that’s totally unprecedented

Therapist: Yes

[-] SoyViking@hexbear.net 24 points 3 months ago

He's really phoning it in. "That guy sucks and his brain is cooked and nobody likes him. But he's good because of reasons that I can't come up with right now. You should totally vote for him."

[-] PM_ME_YOUR_FOUCAULTS@hexbear.net 23 points 3 months ago

More like Bernie Panders amirite

[-] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 23 points 3 months ago

King Cuck returns. What a sad end for Bernie. Went out with a wet fart while still trailing behind FDR and Henry Wallace in the based department.

[-] cosecantphi@hexbear.net 21 points 3 months ago

Seriously, how has Bernie not learned any kind of lesson from his 2020 and 2016 campaigns?

Is his mind going the way of his best friend Biden? Does the CIA have heart attack guns aimed at his grandchildren? I know we joke, but damn, I have a hard time explaining his behavior otherwise. He has nothing to gain from this shit, and he must know it, right? Even his position on Israel somehow got even worse in the years since his presidential campaign, which is kind of bizarre.

I know Bernie is a succdem lib, but was he really lying about his positions this whole time? His entire career? I swear, thinking about it gives me trust issues because I can no longer read this guy who I once thought might genuinely make a difference. I'm more sad and confused than angry about it.

[-] Findom_DeLuise@hexbear.net 12 points 3 months ago

Probably not the CIA, but it's really, really hard not to start spouting conspiracy theories about a Clinton Crime Family Hit Squad. Or they have dirt on him for receiving kickbacks from the Burlington Coat Factory. Or he was forced at gunpoint to participate in ritual child-sniffing with his Good Friend Joe Biden, and they're threatening to leak the video footage if he fails to bend the arthritic knee hard enough.

[-] Sodium_nitride@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 3 months ago

Probably more just an ideology thing. Liberals conceive of themselves as citizens of the empire. As good imperial citizens concerned for the well being of the empire and it's mainlanders, the edge of respectable political discourse for liberals is to point out the inefficiencies and feel bad about the worst excesses of imperialism.

Can't believe how bad this fucker tricked me

[-] batsforpeace@hexbear.net 15 points 3 months ago

guess he's all about just holding onto a seat in the US government for as long as possible and doesn't care about anything else, which is makes him pretty much equal to the rest of them
