Hey, my egg cracked and its been a sleepless couple of days. My mind has been racing about how I want to be, who do I come out to, imagining people's reactions etc. Uh, what do I do now?
You don't have to start this immediately, but facial hair removal takes a long time and it's a very nice change for those who want it. Laser or electrolysis depending on your hair and skin.
I've thought about it a lot, even while entertaining masculinity. Dark hair and mid tone skin means its visible even if I have just shaved, and its kinda patchy to begin with. I did look up prices yesterday
To elaborate on what peanutbutter said, laser is great, but often not covered by insurance. Both laser and electro are expensive out of pocket. But, if you can get insurance to cover it, then despite being slower, electro will be cheaper (and more permanent).
Based on that you're looking for either Nd:YAG laser (more suitable for dark skin than other lasers) or electrolysis then. Some businesses charge a lot more than others so it's good that you're looking up prices.
Try some girl clothes on and some makeup and paint your nails! Do a spinny with a skirt or dress.
I feel like the sort of femme that wears cargo pants and boots, which is convenient for me. Maybe less loose clothing though. My fingernails are large and smooth, very good for painting on. I've transferred warhammer decals onto them before.
warhammer decals on nails is so fucking sick and i will be stealing this idea
also congrats! sounds like a plan, figure out what you enjoy rocking and explore! listen to your body, a lot of times it can hold onto emotions better than our own memories
Sleep hopefully. After that, there's no right way to do things.
If you are wanting HRT, figure out how to get that where you are. If you don't wanna come out to people, you don't have to. If you want to come out, you have no obligation to take any steps before coming out. If you want clothes, used clothes is a cheaper way to try things out.
I think I'm going to discuss it with a bunch of people I'm close to that have gone through similar things.
I've had these thoughts before, but got stuck on not really having a name that I'm comfortable with. But two nights ago I found a name and it felt like the floodgates opened.
Congrats on finding a name! I'm still rolling with my old one. Making changes can be difficult, but worth the struggle.
