Iran Raises Red Flag Of Revenge (kashmirobserver.net)
submitted 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) by Sulvor@hexbear.net to c/news@hexbear.net

Last time the flag appeared on the eve of Iran’s unprecedented missile and drone attack on Israel in April this year.

The flag has been raised for the sixth time in Iran’s history.

I mean the last time Iran raised this flag something significant did happen. Iran directly attacked Israel and landed several successful hits on military targets in Israel. The US was forced to help defend Israel and intercept drones and missiles.

[-] I_CAST_BEAM_OF_BATS_I_CAST_BOLT_OF_BATS@hexbear.net 26 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

the heaviest radar+air defense in the world, in addition to the US military immediately intercepting, and they still hit the site with missiles they have a shitton of

while it was reported on as hyper-sonic missiles, that's just in their final stage. it's not like Iran used some kind of glide weapon thing. they have a shitton of these missiles. didn't take many drones to get them through

[-] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 9 points 1 month ago

Virtually no missiles made any contact with anything (I think one Druze child was killed?). Pretty much nothing happened in that case.

Like, can we just kill one Knesset member or anything. Someone significant. In minecraft, obviously. I would never condone the killing of Isn'traeli officials.

[-] shipwreck@hexbear.net 22 points 1 month ago

Nuclear detonation before November.

We need to stop pretending like the world isn’t headed towards that timeline. The earlier you make peace with this highly likely scenario, the less shocked you will be when it finally happens.

The shock will be an order of magnitude greater than 9/11, and the world will have to adjust to that new reality.

[-] Paulie@hexbear.net 47 points 1 month ago

You watch too many movies and spend too much time on hexbear absorbing this idea that nukes are gonna drop this year. Sometimes this place feels like Qanon facebook page with 4k users

[-] Sulvor@hexbear.net 39 points 1 month ago

Seriously, “nukes in 3 months, I guarantee it” lol

Like yeah world tensions are high, multiple nuclear-state proxy wars…shit doesn’t look good but let’s not start The End is Nigh-ing.

[-] Paulie@hexbear.net 32 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I get it, lots of users here are depressed but that doom has just infected every facet of their lives. Instead of taking the grill pill and submitting to not being able to do anything meaningful to change to course of history, they welcome the horrors that can be because deep down they want those horrors to materialize since they have already subjected themselves to living a life of misery.

[-] EllenKelly@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago

I agree with your point, but this second comment reiterating your first feels a bit uncomradely / punching down-ey

[-] shipwreck@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago

History is an objective process. “Welcome” is not the right word, but getting prepared and using theory to guide our understanding of where the world is heading towards, and being able to strategically prepare for a potentially new reality ahead of time are what the left should be doing.

[-] Othello@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago

How are you preparing for nuclear war?

[-] marxisthayaca@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago

We don’t know that. One of the reasons we are supposed to argue for deescalation and sabotage of imperialist violence, it’s because it leads to untold levels of carnage.

[-] Sulvor@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago

We don’t know that nukes are not gonna fall in 3 months? I get it’s a possibility, but I’m not the one telling people to prepare for the imminent nukes.

[-] bbnh69420@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago

Let’s tune our irony detectors a bit, come on now

[-] marxisthayaca@hexbear.net 21 points 1 month ago

Israel is a death-cult and a fascist state on the edge of collapsing due to their own antics. They also have nukes. That is NOT an unimaginable scenario.

[-] shipwreck@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Unprecedented crises of capitalism and war as the inevitable means to resolve the contradictions of capitalism are Qanon conspiracy theories, TIL.

Is it doomerish and being over-dramatic? Yes. Unlikely scenario? Not at all. There are material basis to back such scenarios, and the aversion to it is precisely a capitulation to Fukuyama’s “end of history” narrative.

Engels predicted the first world war. Lenin predicted the second.

Would you have believed had someone told you in 1934 that a devastating world war would break out in a short few years? Some saw the inevitable rise of fascism and fled Europe with what they could afford. Still many did not believe a second world war would come so soon after the first…

[-] Paulie@hexbear.net 12 points 1 month ago

And the inflated cost of McDonald’s meals predict WW3 the same way current affairs predict a plethora of scenarios, the burgeroise don’t want to drop nukes, nukes are a paper tiger. You should read more Mao because the kind Mao Zedong would send everyone here to hell

Outside of an ironic comment, what other examples do you have of this place feeling like Q enthusiasts?

[-] CommCat@hexbear.net 21 points 1 month ago

The world is still too profitable for the bourgeois class, a nuclear exchange will devastate the world, thus wiping out vast profits. There will be no nuclear exchanges in the foreseeable future. Unless there is a proletarian uprising, or climate catastrophe, the profits of the bourgeoisie are safe for now.

[-] Sulvor@hexbear.net 18 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I definitely agree with this mostly, but I've been reminded that people do not always act rationally. Especially the Israelis.

Ukrainians as well for that matter.

[-] shipwreck@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Western bourgeois profit is currently being undercut by the rising superpower - China. The US and EU simply have no answer to Chinese EV, solar panels and green tech. If they want to transition into alternative renewable energy source, they’re never going to be able to compete with China. They’re screwed industrially and technologically.

The world is being squeezed by the rising dollar and high interest rates and are looking for ways out. And here you’re telling me that the world is still “too profitable” for the bourgeoisie.

Let me gift you a quote from Lenin, from Imperialism: the Highest Stage of Capitalism:

Thanks to her colonies, Great Britain has increased the length of “her” railways by 100,000 kilometres, four times as much as Germany. And yet, it is well known that the development of productive forces in Germany, and especially the development of the coal and iron industries, has been incomparably more rapid during this period than in Britain—not to speak of France and Russia. In 1892, Germany produced 4,900,000 tons of pig-iron and Great Britain produced 6,800,000 tons; in 1912, Germany produced 17,600,000 tons and Great Britain, 9,000,000 tons. Germany, therefore, had an overwhelming superiority over Britain in this respect. The question is: what means other than war could there be under capitalism to overcome the disparity between the development of productive forces and the accumulation of capital on the one side, and the division of colonies and spheres of influence for finance capital on the other?

Wars are the only way out for Western finance capitalism. If that means killing one quarter of the world’s population, then so be it. The contradictions of capitalism can no longer be contained, and are being manifested as hot conflicts and flashpoints elsewhere in the world. Just because it hasn’t happened to where you live personally, yet, doesn’t mean the rest of the world isn’t heading towards a boiling point. Capital demands blood sacrifice, and the bourgeoise are going to give it to their Deity.

Note that Lenin wrote that in 1916! Talk about being prescient about the world.

[-] AssortedBiscuits@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

People are laughing at you, but we're talking about a nuclear power whose population are rioting because they can't brag about gang-r-word Palestinian prisoners in social media and who believe bioengineering a red heifer will force God to bring about their long-awaited Messiah.

These unhinged freaks are not rational actors.

And plus tactical nukes are a thing. Not all nukes are designed to blow up cities. If nukes are going to be in play, tactical nukes will first be used before strategic nukes. And we know the IOF is completely useless when they're not murdering children or sodomizing unarmed prisoners. Is it beyond a possibility that a floundering IOF will use a tactical nuke in a desperate measure to get as least a W?

[-] shipwreck@hexbear.net 16 points 1 month ago

It’s very simple: if Israel cannot have its ethnostate (which is a certainty when it is defeated militarily), what remains of the Zionist ideology?

There is only one option left. In the minds of the irrational, it is the rational option.

[-] AssortedBiscuits@hexbear.net 11 points 1 month ago

I think the most likely nuclear scenario is they'll start using tactical nukes but get Western MSM to say they're just powerful conventional bombs. It fits their MO because they love to shamelessly lie with a shit-eating grin.

[-] sexywheat@hexbear.net 9 points 1 month ago

Samson option.

TL;DR: If Israel falls, genocide all of humanity via nuclear holocaust/winter as punishment for not supporting Israel enough.

[-] jack@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

They don't have nearly enough nukes to achieve that

While it's certainly a possibility considering the fascist derangement of the zionist state, the use of a single nuclear weapon anywhere on earth will unravel the global economy, radioactive fallout crossing multiple borders is not something any state has the capacity to ignore without declaring war

The zeitgeist shift alone will crash the US empire in Eurasia and Africa, intra-capitalist conflicts will erupt all over the world, with most capitalists wondering "Am I safe?", "Should I leave this country and move to that one or should I stay?", and most importantly "Who's next, me and my pals?"

The US neocons in charge of imperial policy are collectively arrogant but not collectively nihilistic, they have a ceiling and while their brutality has wrong-footed many of us, they still want the neoliberal global economy to tick along, regardless of their miscalculations that imperil it

[-] Biggay@hexbear.net 11 points 1 month ago

The weirder thing about any nuclear use, especially by Israel, is what that could even look like.

Israel's nuclear capability isnt totally known; are these kiloton options or megatons, are there dozens of warheads or hundreds, what is the delivery apparatus, what are the targets? We can guess at a lot of these but the reality of what theyre capable of and what the ramifications of use of these devices is nearly infinite.

Not to mention, who would fire back at the colonialist entity? Is Russia going to muster their plentiful supply? America would not, unless it joined in for Israel and hit its own targets. China has very little reason IMO to commit, especially when it might be the most affected by potential fallout by even a limited exchange. Pakistan? India? Does Turkey liberate the US missiles on its territory and use them?

The US neocons in charge of imperial policy are collectively arrogant but not collectively nihilistic, they have a ceiling and while their brutality has wrong-footed many of us, they still want the neoliberal global economy to tick along, regardless of their miscalculations that imperil it.

They dont have to be collectively nihilistic, just enough of them at any one time in the right places can end all of humanity. We got too close and very lucky in the Cuban Missile Crisis. We might be closer than we think already.

Username checks out.

You are very unserious

[-] zed_proclaimer@hexbear.net 19 points 1 month ago

shipwreck is actually a very active reader of current events and good analyst, especially on the economic side of things. I think this prediction is a bit of a stretch and the time table is unlikely, but it's not absurd it's quite plausible and even likely to go this way. Israel will fall into its contradictions, American empire will falter under its own weight eventually and the sampson option will be threatened.

[-] Antiwork@hexbear.net 19 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I think about Nukes destroying the world in the near future pretty often as well. Proclaiming one must succumb too the reality that this will happen in 3 months as to avoid shock when it does is deeply unserious and not helpful to any discourse. It's giving Q "they're going to release the documents this month, I swear."

Edit: I also despise any sort of talk of power users with well thought out correct takes. Blue check vibes over here

[-] shipwreck@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

You’re allowed to disagree with me. My goal here is to provoke people to think outside the box, to get out of their comfort zone and start thinking in terms of contradictions and dialectically, i.e. the point of my counter-narrative that is more often than not rooted in materialism rather than mere fantasy.

I am more troubled by the fact that so many people who call themselves Marxists have taken in the Fukuyamaist “end of history” narrative. More vibes than actual material analysis. Now, that’s what I’d call “unserious”.

i think you need to remove the stick from thine ass and learn the joy of the post. Post with hyperbole, post with gusto, post as if the history books will quote you because it's more fun. The culture here eminates from Cushman who would say stuff like "we're all going to drown in boiling ocean water" when expressing a point that is generally correct, hyperbole is built into the posting style here from inception

[-] shipwreck@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Western leftists cannot see things in terms of contradictions, get used to that.

This is simply the consequence of Western left being radicalized but not willing to read theory to learn how to see the world dialectically.

Having lived under 30 years of neoliberal capitalism, they’re used to the bourgeois reductionism of seeing things as gradual, incrementalist states, where no great upheavals and societal transformations that have punctuated the many epochs along the history of humanity. Truly the “end of history” Fukuyamaist left.

I think shipwreck has some right to be concerned. I don't know about the timeline prediction, but while this isn't on Iran, more so related to Ukraine and Nato, this is worth a read https://thetricontinental.org/newsletterissue/nato-ukraine-nuclear-crisis/

[-] BynarsAreOk@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The problem is that we don't realy know how serious the US realy is about winning the war in Ukraine.

By all evidence so far they're not actualy very threatened or willing to make any meaningful concessions to Ukraine. From day 1 they refused to give Ukraine cruise missiles etc. They tried to say keep the US out of the fight and they made sure Russia couldn't use US assistance as justification. Then the military escalation we saw was a complete joke as a result. The US said Ukraine can't attack pre-Crimea invasion borders for example.

Of course between incompetence, delusion and some deeper strategy perhaps its all three, but if we just take the incompetence and media narratives at face value, then Ukraine was nothing but a long term grift, meant to allow the US to encroach on Russia, a plan that backfired when Putin actualy decided to go to war at first and when their "contingency"(aka sanctions) failed later on.

I wont go further but you can see this is very different from the entire context and meaning behind Israel's existence and US support there.

If you want to have a peek at what the west is actualy thinking look at Rand corporation papers on Ukraine-Russia

It is very enlightening to see how they think of Russia as some "competition" for example. Some(most?) of these end up copy pasted over on western media btw.

[-] HumanAnarchist@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

Totally, but to be honest comrade is pretty accurate. I love hexbear but lol we do be terminally online doomers

[-] GlueBear@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago

Absolutely we do, which is why whenever users make posts like these I am reminded of the diversity of thought that Hexbear fosters.

Measured pessimism to cautious optimism and Doomerism to PIGPOOPBALLS

The shock will be an order of magnitude greater than 9/11, and the world will have to adjust to that new reality.

you've got that heavy LaRouche/Posadas tone down. although I already consider us to be in WWIII there's always a hint of WWIV in the alignment against the NATO+ bloc. sure why not. but that's good.
