I guess this has been said before but I want to reiterate it here.

The 3 button navigation is simpler, much faster than gestures and less prone to input errors than gessure navigation.

It's easier to use the phone one handed when using 3 buttons especially considering the size of phones nowadays.

The only real downside to the 3 button bar is the space it takes away from the screen. I can't deny you get better immersion due increased screen size and gestures being intuitive (for me at least.

With that said I understand that depending on the brand the feel of gestures and their quality can vary (like between a pixel phone and a xiaomi device), but in terms of efficiency (and maybe slightly improved battery life due to less animations) and simplicity the 3 button navigation is still miles ahead.

I'm just sitting here frustrated because I'm wanting my family to move away from messaging me over SMS (they mainly use iOS), but they refuse to download any extra apps. But Google's RCS really doesn't look like a solution either since it mainly just seems to be a way of enforcing Android as an ecosystem, and they don't even make RCS available for 3rd party apps to use either.

Google, which is in the middle of a campaign to get Apple to support the RCS platform, used the song to help its cause.

In the tweet, Google wrote, "The Android team thinks Drake's new song "Texts Go Green" is a real banger. It refers to the phenomenon when an iPhone user gets blocked. Or tries to text someone who doesn't have an iPhone. Either way, it's pretty rough. If only some super-talented engineering team at Apple would fix this. Because this is a problem only Apple can fix. They just have to adopt RCS, actually. It would make texting more secure too. Just sayin'. Great track tho."

SUMMARY

  • The EU has identified WhatsApp as a gatekeeper in the messaging industry and has given it a few months to enable interoperability with other apps.
  • The EU's Digital Markets Act aims to promote fair competition and give consumers more options for alternative services.
  • WhatsApp has already begun working on interoperability with other apps, potentially allowing smaller players like Signal to compete more fairly.

According to the comments section, users have been able to sideload them without issues. Play Store has since begun allowing the installs.

Google has lifted the block it placed on the ability for users to freely install benchmarking apps on its Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones. The block had been in place during the review embargo period but extended past the on sale period where customers purchasing the devices couldn’t install benchmarks on their new Pixels either.

One should be at the bottom one at the top. I understand space on the phone is a premium but a second port would make the phone so much more usable. Wired headphones, flash drives, camera modules, speaker modules, keyboards, even connection to a TV, all could be used while charging. It's a shame it's not a thing, USB is extremely versatile port, but you only get one and it's used for charging half of the time. (I am aware dongles exist)

Is this something you all got used to with time or does this still bother you( IT really fells much less intuitive compared to the old 3 buttons ,alghtough preferably i would love to have both since the back gesture seems kinda usefull )?

Also to show off my amazing meme skills using a meme generator app. 🤓

Bye seriously... I've been living in a cave for years. What apps do you recommend?

I installed, so far:

  • Photo editor pro
  • Mi Remote
  • Meme generator

What else? Recommended ebook reader? Anything else?
