Cool, so it's like two years ago

Oh...

Oh no

Buying new hardware engineers in Taiwan, after laying off hardware engineers in the US a couple weeks ago.

Sounds like offshoring to me.

EDIT: This is not recent news. Nevermind. Move along.

This is an article from 2018.
Not sure why OP posted this

[-] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 3 months ago

It happened 6 years ago day-to-day, just guessed it could remind some people about their HTC memories

[-] Humanius@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

That's fair. I do miss the good ol' HTC days.
I'm on the Google Nexus/Pixel train now though

Thanks for updating the title so people don't misinterpret it as happening recently

[-] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 months ago

No worries, I should have done it when I posted, but I thought the 6 years ago was a part of the title.

[-] cbarrick@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Ah, fuck. I got caught in the trap

What a pointless article

[-] Blaze@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 months ago

A few of my friends had HTC in 2008, those were cool devices

[-] Chozo@kbin.social 5 points 3 months ago

The HTC One M8 is still one of the most fun phones I've ever used. I wish IR blasters would come back.

That metal body was so nice. Plus you could unlock just about every part of an HTC.

I miss HTC and the XDA forums for those devices...

[-] comrade19@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

I had the evo 3d which had a 3d camera and screen that needs no glasses. It was actually effective and had a whopping 5 hours battery life haha.

[-] BearOfaTime@lemm.ee 2 points 3 months ago

5 hours in 2012? That was pretty damn good! Haha

[-] cloudless@feddit.uk 1 points 3 months ago

I had the HTC One X which was literally hot. I couldn't use it for a few minutes without it burning my hands.

Not cool.

[-] liquidparasyte@pawb.social 2 points 3 months ago

And HTC was never the same again.

I miss that quiet brilliance.
