What kind of statement is this? MOBAs are still insanely popular. And "move on"? as if there's no reason to iterate or improve on a genre?
I don't even play MOBAs but I've heard this same sentiment on arena shooters and it makes as much sense there as it does here.
idk, I'm a meat eater and if it wasn't for vegans evangelizing I really wouldn't know how messed up meat production is. We allow some seriously cruel shit to fellow sentient beings, far beyond just killing them, and no one wants to think about it.
I always felt like dodging projectiles and not needing to worry about vertical aiming was the best part of doom.
It also translates to controllers well too vs the hit scan skills required with modern fpses along with the ability to aim on the vertical axis

I feel like your examples aren't quite what OP was referring to. Those games have pretty great gameplay
it's been a long time since I took biology but my gut keeps telling me that this isn't some binary thing.. like, all these suggestions we follow to me seem to be about minimizing exposure.. like if I get 100 individual covid viruses in me through a cheap, cloth mask, my body can fight it off. And that may be a different outcome if I didn't have a mask at all and got 1,000 individual viruses in me.
I don't know, I'm not a biologist, I just don't get how everything is constantly framed as all or nothing. it doesn't make sense to me.
I've seen pro-life folks argue that but they frame it like... "the law is fine and it's a failure of the doctors not being willing to understand the law which led to deaths" and they'll also follow that up by saying that even if women die, they're saving more lives by preventing abortions so it's a net positive.
I find it difficult to argue against that perspective. That is, I disagree with them but also it's hard to argue when they frame abortions as basically murder.
