Vance tells Sean Hannity that Democratic ‘arsonists’ will reverse Trump’s successes even as he admits his own administration needs more time

JD Vance laid out the Trump administration’s best case for a Republican victory in the midterm elections on Thursday, returning to his role as the White House’s great communicator. But instead of empathizing with Americans’ economic pains and fears about the future, the vice president leaned into fear-mongering about Democrats.

Vance spoke with Fox’s Sean Hannity in an interview that aired Thursday, and leaned into the administration’s successes at driving illegal crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border to 50-year lows as he made the case for the GOP.

As he spoke about the supposed priorities of hypothetical Democratic majorities in the House and Senate, however, Vance claimed that his opponents wanted to block Republicans from ever winning elections again and “transform” America, citing such issues as acceptance of transgender Americans.

Vance claimed that his opponents wanted to block Republicans from ever winning elections again

So basically what the reds are trying to do to the Democrats very literally right now?

Forgive me, but I'm just gonna be vulgar for a moment. My partner and I are well off. I don't usually like to mention it, but I will in this context. We were discussing our ability to absorb the price increases pretty easily and how we feel not a shred of compassion for the maga shitheads who experience financial precarity because of how they voted. Fuck 'em.

On the other hand, I feel bad for their children who didn't choose to have groceries become less accessible, their education shat upon, and the same with every other way those kids get hurt by their stupid parents' bad politics.

And that's saying nothing of all the good people who didn't invite this upon themselves and tried to prevent it from happening but suffer just the same. I hope for the least harm to be visited upon people who didn't do this to themselves. And the most for those that cheered for it. (I normally only want good things for people, but I take this moment to give in to my anger a bit.)

How strict are we on the Lemmy.world instance in terms of what we can say?

Because I'm gonna express what I'm thinking in one way or another, it's just a matter of how bluntly I can say it on a regular basis.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago

"JD Vance, Vice President to President Trump, man who incessantly gripes about every minor slight, real or imagined, tells americans to not gripe about legitimate issues"

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 5 points 4 hours ago

Vote the fucking MAGA weasels out of office. Release the damn Epstein Files and end the stupid war against Iran.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 5 points 4 hours ago

Oh, just go fuck yourself, you pedophile traitor.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

It certainly feels like we’re treated as peasants like they are in those movies where the king and royalty just treat everyone beneath them like shit. We’re just rabble to be mocked, fodder for the peerage’s disposal. Except you know, unlike real life, in the movie the bad guys get it in the end.

[–] BigMacHole@thelemmy.club 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

He's RIGHT! It's a SMALL Price to Pay!

-People with KAMALA = HIGH PRICES signs in Their Yard!

Here in Ohio they're now running whataboutism ads against the Dem candidate for Governor. The whole ad is someone in 2028 complaining about not being able to afford groceries because of the the candidate, Amy Acton's, tax hikes.

THAT is the whole ad

like pedophilia?

Vance can suck a shitty but hair

[–] MIDItheKID@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

Vance can smoke a fat bowl of shitty butt hair.

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 hours ago

May a shitty butt hair be stuck in his throat hourly.

Vance claimed that his opponents wanted to block Republicans from ever winning elections again and “transform” America, citing such issues as acceptance of transgender Americans.

Oh noes not FREEDOM anything but that

[–] Thor_Whale@lemmus.org 0 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

The problem is is both sides suck the dick of israel and they don't care about us. They don't want any of the reforms that society's demanding. They want to keep their 10 houses and five cars and practically free healthcare. They don't ever want to go to work and they don't want to step down. They are completely useless to the American people, they laugh in our faces. They piss on us, we are nothing but the catch basin of a urinal to these people. Pay us more we give you less and whatever we give you we give most of it to our pet projects and donors. That's who's in office right now. We're not winning if Jeffries and Schumer take the reins again. If the same weasel just with a different shirt on. I can almost absolutely guarantee you trump turd will not get thrown out of office and it's just going to be a bunch of pocket lining and platitudes for the next two years while they try to get a president in there to just rinse repeat the Biden bullshit.

[–] SparroHawc@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 hour ago

This is why we also fight to primary in the actual progressive candidates and oust the establishment neo-liberals. Mamdani was a sign that progress can be made.

You can't really do the same for the Republican party.

[–] nexguy@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

"The problem is both sides..."

You lost me right there. ICE buildup, attack greenland/canada/cuba, insult all allies, destroy tourism, attack iran, choke ukraine aid, implement tarriffs, install conservative judges for lifetime terms.

Those are one sided.

[–] huquad@lemmy.ml 7 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

None of you in this thread get it. Did any of you even say thank you?

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 4 points 4 hours ago

We should make him thank his firing squad.

Gaslight
Obstruct
Projection

It really is the same thing every time with these corrupt losers, isn't is? Yes, it's everyone else obsessed with trans people and what's in their pants, not Republicans. It's certainly not Conservatives persecuting immigrants and LGBTQ folks, instead of addressing actual issues. Couldn't be the Grand Old Party chasing AI dollars by building environment-destroying data centers to suck up all our water and personal info. How could it have been Republicans that started a pointless war and drove up prices on gas and food for everyone!? Who's actually focused on the "little things" of culture war bullshit while workers suffer??

Meanwhile, the President is obsessed with vanity projects like ballrooms, arches, and national monuments, while illegally enriching himself and his billionaire friends... The corruption is on full display with these incompetent fools.

[–] Kurtismayfield@lemmy.zip 10 points 10 hours ago

Wait, isn't this the guy who couldn't gripe about the little things well, and screwed it up?

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/jd-vance-eggs-kamala-harris-b2617527.html

Yes, yes it is.

[–] Bieren@lemmy.today 14 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

You know. The little things. Like gas prices. Grocery prices. Housing prices. Trump is a pedophile. Trump is named more in the Epstein files than god in the bible. Trump is a rapist. Trump is a convicted felon. Kash is down with beastiality. Vance is a drunken moron. You know, just the little things.

[–] FudgyMcTubbs@lemmy.world 9 points 10 hours ago

Dead school children, Depleted munitions, weakened defenses in European positions, destroyed military logistics, suicidal sailors stuck at sea, yada yada

[–] ImgurRefugee114@reddthat.com 53 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago) (2 children)

Yeah, you shouldn't worry about the little things like food, shelter, transportation, and healthcare. We have bigger issues to tackle as a nation, like one trans kid being on a highschool sports team; you know, the big "purpose of government" stuff.

[–] Kurtismayfield@lemmy.zip 9 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Their white Christian nationalist "utopia" is more important to them than pesky things like people eating, the Bill of Rights, the rule of law, etc.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

He's Thiel's boy, after all.

Gotta work on that Network State or whatever the fuck dipshits like Curtis Yarvin and The Sovereign Individual kooks say...hey, there is nothing elitist about any of this stuff, though!

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 9 points 12 hours ago

We've got arches to build, and wars to lose, and that shit's expensive. Americans should just be less selfish.

[–] FrostyTheDoo@lemmy.world 62 points 15 hours ago

"look I know groceries and gas are expensive right now, and that's affecting 99% of you poors negatively. But you can fuck off, poors. If Democrats get into power we will have to accept trans people, which affects none of you negatively. Surely you can understand why you must starve."

[–] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 71 points 16 hours ago (6 children)

he admits his own administration needs more time

You know what? If I was very generous and very naive, I might just buy this narrative.

But here's the thing: his boss promised to lower prices from day one, and that was one of the many hard promises he made that even the most mentally incompetent MAGAt knows full well were flat-out lies by now - if they needed convincing before the election.

Fool me once...

[–] KingGordon@lemmy.world 44 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

Fool me twice… you cant get fooled again.

[–] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 17 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

W can die in a fire but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t rather listen to audio of all the stupid shit he ever said on repeat for a year than hear another sentence come out of trumps stupid fucking face again

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 11 points 15 hours ago (3 children)

Dubya was supposed to be the dumbest president ever. Trump is so much worse, and happened so quickly after W’s term. It’s a bit shocking until you realize who actually wields the levers of power in American government: the rich/corporations. They control it all, including for whom we get to “vote” in the first place. POTUS being a useful idiot is quite beneficial for them.

That was the dumb fascism era. We're at the pedophile fascism stage now.

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 16 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

And we still kept the dumb!

[–] BooBees@fedinsfw.app 2 points 8 hours ago

We promoted it. Two term dumb is viewed as much more prestigious than just one term dumb.

Rich tell poor to suck it up. This ain't news, it's the way of life for the world ever since factories were invented.

*looks at feudalism*

[–] savvie@lemmy.zip 16 points 13 hours ago

Little things like the escalating costs of food, clothing & shelter, the basic necessities of life, those little things?

[–] bunnybunny@lemmy.zip 10 points 12 hours ago

What about all the big things? Things like the fact that Trump is a pedophile?

Americans dying of a thousand paper cuts.

JD: "Quit whining. They're just tiny cuts. You haven't even said thank you for the paper. No, you can't have a bandaid."

[–] Octavio@piefed.social 24 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

Ah, the old "nation of whiners" trope. Always a solid midterm closing argument.

Is that what his wife told him?

[–] PNW_Doug@lemmy.world 13 points 15 hours ago

"The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all."

Though GK Chesterton was himself a conservative and a bit of a tool, once again he's the man for the quote. Vance and his handlers fear the bill for their crimes. I have little faith they'll pay it, but they're desperate to prevent that risk entirely.
