Forgive me, but I'm just gonna be vulgar for a moment. My partner and I are well off. I don't usually like to mention it, but I will in this context. We were discussing our ability to absorb the price increases pretty easily and how we feel not a shred of compassion for the maga shitheads who experience financial precarity because of how they voted. Fuck 'em.
On the other hand, I feel bad for their children who didn't choose to have groceries become less accessible, their education shat upon, and the same with every other way those kids get hurt by their stupid parents' bad politics.
And that's saying nothing of all the good people who didn't invite this upon themselves and tried to prevent it from happening but suffer just the same. I hope for the least harm to be visited upon people who didn't do this to themselves. And the most for those that cheered for it. (I normally only want good things for people, but I take this moment to give in to my anger a bit.)
The only price increase that I can't absorb is computing right now. I bought a server when I started college after the military, expecting to be on some kind of refresh cycle; ECC DDR5 is unobtanium for me on my pay. Hard drives are also so expensive I have to put NAS plans on hold.
