Rules: (interactive)

1) Be nice and; have funDoxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, toxicity and dog-whistling are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them

2) All posts must end with a '?'This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?

3) No spamPlease do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.

4) NSFW is okay, within reasonJust remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com. NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].

5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions. If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.

6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !uspolitics@lemmy.world

7) No Hit-and-Run questions.
Please don't delete your post for no apparent reason. If you plan on deleting a question later, say so in the post, or if you feel that you have a good reason to remove it, message a mod beforehand. It's come up a few times in comments recently and I finally got time to mock one up, but I don't have enough content to fill the boxes.

What are some staple lemmy experiences that could go on a bingo card?

Note: this is for fun. Let's have some positive vibes to go with the negative ones since Lemmy itself is a mixed bag.

Double edit: Apologizes was not spelled like that.

Nearly perfect, but missed "the world would be a utopia witout cars" & "suprise monster dongs"

[–] EnsignWashout@startrek.website 3 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Excellent. Can "brings up love of trains in an unrelated conversation" have a separate space from "the world would be a utopia without cars"?

It's basically the same, but I really like trains and wanted an excuse to mention them.

[–] BurgerBaron@quokk.au 3 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

suprise monster dongs

Ah you're browsing Scaled on All feed? lol.

[–] mr_rusty_shackleford@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I think it just kinda seers into the brain vs the frequency of them. You get a few porn posts back to back and are thinking, she's kinda hot. Then boom, suprise monster dong snap tossed in the mix to throw you off.

[–] BurgerBaron@quokk.au 2 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

🤣 I had a similar experience on Bluesky when I briefly tried it out with gay bears spread eagle showing up about half way down the Catch Up* feed if you ever had NSFW enabled.

[–] Vanth@reddthat.com 24 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

Actual human responses, including real apologies at times when someone takes a comment the wrong way and then admits they did so. Never in all my years on the other platform did I see that happen.

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 5 hours ago

It is I! I am the one appologicing!

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 8 points 10 hours ago

I’ve posted my share of bad takes, and ate my words and apologized. I’ve also seen quite a few others have similar bad times. But they’re temporary, we all grow, and we all improve from them.

[–] Wren@lemmy.today 9 points 11 hours ago

That's true, it's encouraging to see and makes me more willing to apologize, too.

[–] CombatWombat@feddit.online 20 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

idk I just kinda disassociated for a while and then this list was here

  • gossip about instances like social cliques
  • someone forgot to set the language on their post/comment
  • a poster has an obvious special interest
  • linux
  • obviously a human used ms paint here
  • thread takes an unexpected turn to horniness
  • lemming is surprised the rest of the fediverse exists
  • whimsy
  • someone wishes there was more niche content
  • federation lag
  • a wild mastodon/pixelfed user appears
  • beans
  • a commenter has clearly missed that they are responding to someone from a different country
  • a big chart/table of fedi statistics
  • a programmer is using a bunch of jargon for some reason
[–] riskable@programming.dev 6 points 11 hours ago

I take exception to that programmer bullet! We always have reasonable conditionals for any and all jargon. There's actually an eponymous law about this, pointing out what happens when someone is wrong on the Internet. It's called Beckstrom's Law.

  • Sketchy guy tells a one-sided story about how he got banned multiple times on Reddit.

  • Everyone in the comments showering him with love, trashing Reddit, and completely ignoring the huge red flag that there must be some fucking reason why that guy got banned multiple times.

Welcome to !reddit@lemmy.world.

Sub-thread of a conversation of something unrelated becomes an open source software recommendations mini thread.

[–] riskable@programming.dev 8 points 11 hours ago

I recommend Obsidian for keeping track of events like this 👍

[–] lemmie689@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 9 hours ago

SDF is down.

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip 1 points 6 hours ago

IDK about anyone else, but my bing card would have to have furryirl on pawb(dot)social. Something related to that. Don't see it often enough as I want on the all tab thing, but man do I love seeing the posts.

[–] queerlilhayseed@piefed.blahaj.zone 7 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

Someone's vibe-coded shovelware with an emoji-riddled README.

[–] Sxan@piefed.zip 2 points 2 hours ago

"shovelware" 👍

  • "...here's a reading list..."
  • #NoSlop!
[–] Wren@lemmy.today 9 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Where are the owls? I don't see nearly enough owls on here. I get tons of bats and beans though.

[–] zaphod@sopuli.xyz 7 points 11 hours ago
