Look, instant messages were instant, but getting the computer to boot up, connecting to the Internet and logging in were not.

I'm on the younger end but I remember so Many people having routines like prep the coffee machine the night before, when the alarm went off you would get up youd hit the power button on the computer, turn on the coffee machine, them hop in the shower. When you got out of the shower you would log in, and go grab a cup of coffee, then come back and connect to the Internet. Drink your coffee and you could check the 2 items and emails you needed before running out the door

If they did that they would have a lot more paperwork to forge. The U.S. was claiming that they were running cocaine, but there were reports after one of the bombings that a lot of weed washed up on shore. With a large part of the U.S. population believing weed shouldn't be illegal, and clearly making it legal would take away any reason for someone to smuggle weed into our country selling the idea of attacking their country for it would have been harder. So they would have had to dispose of all the weed, bag up fake cocaine or acquire real cocaine and submit it all to evidence and fake all the paperwork.

Instead they just bomb them and don't have to lie anymore, the evidence was supposed to gone and they could tell the media whatver story they wanted.

Pretty easy for them to claim. They went to war with Afghanistan with a deck of cards and Bin Laden as the Ace of Spades. 48/52 of those cards were executed or in custody.

This time Israel and the U.S. started the war by killing who they would claim is the Ace of Spades.

The U.S. isn't going to try to colonize Iran, they could back out tomorrow and already call the war a win. They won't though, because people aren't the reason they are there, they are their to funnel money, and Israel is there so they can expand their borders, not into Iran, down through Gaza and into the West Bank, maybe part of Lebanon who knows what with Jordan.. but when the Iran war ends they will hold more land and the world will say they lost.

It's like if Russia and Ukraine reached peace tomorrow, people will say Russia lost because they dont control Ukraine. But Russia will have expanded its borders, and Ukraine would have shrunk a lot. Russia will have "won" all of that land, and wouldn't give a shit that all those people died. (Because Putin got what he wanted, to keep appearing strong to his people, which he only cares about because it keeps his head on his neck, and stays rich beyond imagine)

From the GOPs point of view they won all of them. This war will be no different. The world will call it a loss because the U.S. won't take control of Iran and hold it permanently, which the U.S. never has any intent of holding these countries permanently. They don't care how many soldiers die, they don't even really care who ends up controlling that area when they leave. Did they destabilize the region and get approval to funnel mass amounts of money into defense company contracts. Yes and yes. U.S. oil comes from the U.S. yet gas prices are rising in the U.S., why... Because wars with countries that control oil elsewhere help line the pockets of oil companies who fund these politicians campaigns. If you have oil, lift it at costs less than the U.S. and don't have nuclear weapons, you are a target to exploit. It'll raise costs for every working class sod in the world, but they couldn't give a shit about us. They are winning. We are losing.

I had a talk with God last night, he told me every church that accepts donations or makes money should be burned to the ground and those who preach there are all heretics

damn, I knew there was an alterior motive to the knee pads, no one liked those things.

Yeah meanwhile I was over in the corner trying to figure out how all my laces are tangled in the Velcro of my roller blades. I swear whoever designed Velcro and laces to exist on the same contraption was just trying to be a dick

Yo we almost there

So many pedestrians would be in trouble come Manhattan. The roads just not big enough for 5 of them

Not much, just the part where it helped clear small companies out of the market if their margins were thin and had to raise their prices they may have just went under in the last year. I wonder if companies that declared bankruptcy in the last 12 months can also start lawsuits separately

Imagine prescribing weight loss drugs to a meth addict to curb his addiction. Jeff's over there walking out of the clinic like

I have to deduct a merit for myself, as I now see I spelled meritable with a typo.

My brother isn't a fool, but I am curious how many children especially in the Florida area will have to grow up being taught that it's the Guld of America while their own parents think why? while most of the world and country looks at them like really?

So to not be a complete ass and prepare for the future, what do you guys think would be adviseable to both address such in person, teach your kids to address in person, and address it in a manner so a child is treating like discussionn, not a "clash" per say .

I have to acknowledge there may very well be a time when my niece/nephew were told by their teacher in school, there is no Gulf of Mexico

Not sure if I'm supposed to say something to the store, Crest or is this just how shitty toothpaste now comes?

What is Love? (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) by LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world to c/nostupidquestions@lemmy.world

Love is the raw unequivocal symbiotic resonance between an entity and everything around it.

Love isn't for another entity, it is for everything; and the understanding that choice must be derived from what you understand to be greatest for that truth.

------++++++++++

If that's how I define love to myself, what is your definition, what are your differences?

Like in honesty, I think people should demand Apple/Google/Oracle's actual statements of what they believe happened in those videos, and say they don't believe it wasn't murder, if they believe so. And the company as a whole being a company having people's rights should be held accountable if they lie. An accomplice to a crime. From executive, to stock owner, should be held criminal unless they immediately toss someone they believe says something criminal. Else. Every party receives accomplice and all executives receive full charges for supporting a murderer.

Aloha, I'm being dumb. I tried to move away from using PIA- private Internet access do to some suggestions. I bit the bullet and finally switched VPNs after ~5 years or so.

I know others may say it's dumb but I was going to try Proton VPN. On my phone, no issues. If I run the installers in Mint though, I can't seem to get it to install. Tried the Debian install, tried the Ubuntu install, but no luck. Specifically the command sudo apt install proton-vpn-gnome-desktop Will always return an unable to locate package, even while running from the same directory I run the wget commands and such from.

Is there something that you have seen that works well with this? I need to set that machine back up for a split tunnel for a couple specific apps and not others.

I was trying to throw together some quick items to have something for dinner later. Some penne was left, some rotini was left, had some hot sausage I meant to use for a pizza the other day, but the spouse didn't want sausage that day, whatever, make a quick dish.

Cook the bottom of the box penne and rotini, throw the sausage in a pan, season/brown in, throw it into the pot of drained pasta.

Take the sausage juice/fat and add flour to it to start a roux. Everything seems good, poor in the last of the milk.. wait, was that thick. Crap it smells off, check the jug, best by January 7th. Son of a b, can't get that sausage fat back to start over, and the milk is gone. Looking for liquids because I don't have any broth or such in the pantry. Ugh

Old cameras but they have been sitting.

What can I use to record and ensure the data is saved locally. Nothing serious, just chickens being accused of hurting plants when they are monitored. I just want to catch whatever it is (deer? Etc?) eating it so I can have evidence it isn't them

I made a comment earlier mentioning Limbitless and I am curious what it's reach really is, have people heard of it, has it helped a number of people, or few?

It was a non-profit starter in ties with the University of Central Florida to provide prosthetics to those whom could not afford it.

Edit: I just added a URL for reference in the body

Quick math is the one thing computers were always good at, not anymore apparently.

I had 13 chickens which is a lot for many. None of my birds are small but all loving. I had to cut my flock from 13 to 7 because I was worried about feeding to much on neighboring floras. I made the cut from 13 to 7 near Halloween. Then 2 pit bulls showed up and attacked the coop that day killing missexed rooster. (Oct. 31). I never wanted a rooster, but he fought and defended the flock, and the only other hen injured by an 80/60lb set of male/female blue pitbullsade me question. Maybe I do want a rooster. He died October 31, I set a few eggs aside in literally a Styrofoam box, with half a strand of Christmas lights in it, pull out, push in to get the right temperature (less) ... And a chick was born. Rediulous one at first, 39 mins from start to finish. (Absolutely ridiculous). Now. A second is being born. (I assume 12-18 hours) The rooster passed on 10/31

Basic: 20ft x 10ft chicken coop being attacked by loose blue pit bulls. (Weight 60,80 lbs malle and female). I'm trying to address the problem by finding the owners and what not but I first saw them 3 weeks ago. Tried to break in and I told them to stop, they listened and left. They came back today between 2-4pm and broke in and the one rooster that was there (missexed at birth) fought them off, died doing so. It is a very low gauge wire surround the pen, chickens aren't to strong. After the situation I reinforced the entrance where they broke in with higher(lower) gauge wire to about 2.5 ft it's what I had available. They came back at 11pm and broke in above it. I had to let one of the dogs out of the door so they could leave. I don't wish to shoot the dogs, and am dealing with it on other fronts... I was hoping maybe someone had cheap ideas I could use to reinforce the pen in case they come back before the issue is sorted. As a gun owner, I never want guns to be the answer

2 60-80lb dogs (lemmy.world)
submitted 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) by LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world to c/backyardchickens@lemmy.ca

So 3 weeks ago I had 2 blue (pitbulls?) come by one male one female, jumping at my 20x10ft cage trying to get in. Luckily I walked out there, they friendly to people, I told them to cut it out and go away, and they left. This afternoon between 2-4pm they came back and broke through the wire to get to the chickens, the one missexed rooster fought them to his death, and all the hens survived. I wrapped the bottom 2.5 feet of entry with stronger metal wiring to reinforce it. They came back at 11pm. (They leaped over after tearing through the weaker part up top). I had to let one out) First off hats off to a rooster that fights off 140lbs of dogs. (Picture below for sorrow). Second, I will re-inforce further, but what would you/should I do. My spouse wants me to shoot them, and I am very much a dog lover and believe the female dog was recently pregnant so I think they are out trying to provide.... I'm trying to avoid shooting them at any cost. It's Tennessee. She grew up here. Her mindset is it's killing our livestock, kill it. I'm very much re-inforce, and figure out if we can find who owns them and make sure they know what's going on... What would you do?

Rest in peace knight of the chickens
