Can we stop this false narrative that Trump had big gains with black voters? He gained 2 pts with black men and lost 2 pts with black women compared to 2020. This is a MINORITY DEMOGRAPHIC, and he made virtually no gains.
Trump won because young men shifted right and latinx men shifted like 40 pts to the right. That was the ball game.
Americans turn on Trump so much, he's probably spinning in his chair.
He's still sitting in it, tho.
*shitting
I still find it incomprehensible that any appreciable number of voters chose that guy, or chose him more than once
He started off with decades of poor headlines as a grifter, narcissist, and failed developer ….. did people really believe that stupid “reality” show creates to establish a new image? But then everyone saw what he did the first time around: even if your only knowledge is “reality” tv, why would you repeat that?
If you're black, Hispanic, young, or any other special interest and voted for trump, you are also dumb as shit. You voted for a man with a long history of failure and pedophilia. You voted for someone who lies constantly, is fake macho, and is himself dumber than dirt. If Donald Trump 'tricked you', than you are irredeemably stupid. Please never vote again moron.
Really, anybody who voted for Trump in 2024 is dumb as shit. They literally watched Trump lead a coup attempt against their government. And Trump even said during his campaign that if you voted for him in that election, you'd never have to vote again.
A vote for Trump in 2024 was a vote against your own right to ever vote again in the future. A vote against democracy itself. It's hard to imagine people voting any dumber than that.
I agree, as I sit here in 2026, and still can't fucking believe how god damn stupid my county is.. it literally hurts my head thinking about some of the dumbest shit that happens, and just thinking how in the fuck do people just glaze past this? Because they, themselves are also that fucking dumb.. either way, I'm having a hard time adjusting as a late 30's y/o man that, we are fucking cooked.
I enjoy that your comment is rightfully upvoted on a forum where people will routinely lament, to many dubious upvotes, that voter turnout is low. We need an informed electorate, not dumbfucks who have no idea what is happening in the world and can't remember four years ago.
Maybe something about watching your neighbor's kids ziptied and used as bait to snatch their mom who's been working her ass off
Might not sit well with folks who thought their bills should be lower
I still find it baffling that people ever thought he would lower the price of anything other than corruption. Like, what in his first disaster of a term gave anyone the idea that he could drive prices down? He absolutely tanked the economy during covid and the before that it was only good on paper.
It takes a lot to get through to people. I don't know how you raise kids and make ends meet on $9 an hour and also pay attention to politics. There are so many layers of systemic failure here that to blame each and every individual is only recognizing half the problem.
I mean yeah we're a wealthy nation and we're lazy, ignorant, and complacent but we're also overworked, underpaid, and victimized
It takes a lot to get through to people because most people have the attention span of a goldfish struggling for breath in a puddle on the floor next to the broken glass of their tiny fish tank.
They see the propaganda, they don't have the time to dig any deeper than "Democrats are baby killers and Trump will create jobs". The message was a lie, but short enough to get across.
Democrats have terrible messaging, and aren't even trying to hit some of these demographics. I've yet to see a good Spanish language mass media campaign. Some from NGOs, but none from the party.
Texas would be blue if they could competently get out the Latino vote... Instead the white rural voters get to enact their terrible policies :_(
I knew the propaganda was working at least for their base when I saw them repeating along with Pence - "promises made, promises kept" and they even had a banner for it, LOL.
To someone like me, it was like watching W stand in front of "Mission Accomplished" in the level of ridiculousness and brazen idiociy, but to the brainless monkeys in that crowd? Absolute truth.
What promises were made and what were kept? I have no fucking idea what one of the base would have said in 2020 to that question.
The fact of the matter is, prices went up under Biden's watch, and they were getting the wrong message from Democrats at the time, which was "hey, it's all OK, trust us!". And in a system where we only get two choices, that meant either sitting it out, or voting for the other ~~guy~~ one.
What the Democrats did not point out enough was that we were coming out of a Black Swan global event AND Russia attacked Ukraine. They don't have to get into the details and working to bring relief would be welcome for sure, but it's not like Biden caused either Covid or Russia's aggression...
When Biden left, virtually everything about the economy was headed in the right direction. Donvict was handed an economy that was called the envy of the world and still the big baby whines about it and proceeds to fuck it all up.
I bet anything that if a Democrat gets in there, the Murc's Law types will be immediately blaming the Democrats for not fixing things fast enough.
The economists agreed the economy was headed in the right direction as a whole, but those are the bottom weren't seeing it. They vote, too, and will abandon candidates they think aren't listening.
It's rather telling that amid all this controversy over the "DNC Autopsy", the key point which the DNC seems to be ignoring is the fact that the political consultants that ran it were all well off, and didn't see the same day-to-day pain that most people did. There is a reason why the term K-shaped economy is so popular.
And yes, Trump won and he has made things so much worse. But was hard in 2024 to vote for "more of the same" when your situation has gotten worse.
the economy was headed in the right direction as a whole, but those are the bottom weren’t seeing it.
Id go even farther than that. Biden started a lot of good things, not just the better economy, but way too much was longer term and no one has an attention span anymore. Too many voters can’t look at a chart and see “lines goes up” or a schedule and see “next decade is mighty fine”
Also, your bills aren't lower.
I’ll believe it when I see it. There are still many millions, something close to one in three that decisively support him last time I read. They’re fully indoctrinated and reject anything that would challenge their worldview. They even reject their own eyes.
It's around 38.2% if you average out the polls, but very slowly dropping.
Look at election results since November 2024 and you'll see it.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
But where are you going to see it that you'd count it?
Because this article didn't meet that threshold?
Do you want someone in a maga hat to approach you and say it?
I'd like to think you'd realize they'd stop wearing the hat first, and long before approaching random strangers for that conversation you think will happen, ntheyll just not vote.
But where are you going to see it that you'd count it?
At the ballot box. That’s really the only “survey” that matters. Everything else is just statisticians trying to justify their Masters degrees. I’m hopeful for midterms, but I’ve been so consistently disappointed by my peers that I’m refusing to get my hopes up until after the results are in.
I want to see results in actual polls that matter: people voting and supporting candidates that disagree with his values.
It’s true that there have been some impressive wins in some elections, but at least in my state, it remains an intense Republican stronghold. Believe me, I’d love for that to change, but it seems highly unlikely. Support remains overwhelming in the only way that matters and that is continuing control by the party because voters still feel confident enough in Republicans. Hence, my family is planning on moving out of state to someplace that aligns better with the our values. I don’t appreciate threatening members of my family as part of their political rhetoric.
I'm sure the many people who have died as a result of Trump being elected will thank them for their change of heart. /s
First-generation Hispanic voters tend to be single-issue voters, so they’re easily wooed by messages like, “We hate commies!,” “Eww gays!,” “Machismo is a good thing!” and “No Abortions!” and will happily vote against their own interests on everything else.
It also doesn’t help they tend to value education less than subsequent generations.
That and the other option was a woman.
Only like 23% of the American public supported him in the first place. That's why you have to get off your ass and vote.
Two years too late, they already shit the bed.
I still just find it wild that Donvict was appealing to anyone, nevermind people within the groups listed.
Typical genoside-party APOLOGISTS, the Atlantic.
If they'd WANTED us to vote for Kamala, they'd have stopped ALL WARS.
(apologies to BigMacHole)
