this way i also confirmed that he’s not cheating

[–] toynbee@piefed.social 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Did you witness the wife saying that?

Well, be careful and take care of yourself.

I know you only from your posts and barely that (I look at them as they come up in my feed mainly to go "is that violet?"), but the situation you're describing could easily go wrong.

I don't begrudge anyone whatever ethical fun they might wish to have, just be aware of red flags.

Always nice to confirm the “E” in ENM :)

I've got you tagged as "solid dude" for some reason and you've never let me down. Every comment is solid!

Yeah I bet we couldn't push them over if all of us tried, their Kung Fu is that strong

Aw, I’m glad you think so! Cheers, friend! 🤗

Nicely done, fingers crossed he can last long enough to have fun with, then

My mom has been squatting in my apartment for a year and a half. I'm really looking forward to having my own space again. Neither of us chose this and it's clearly affecting us mentally.

And yet, I wouldn't go that far.

this guy shares the living room with his wife and mother-in-law, while their son gets the bedroom

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

lol that is a… fascinating living situation. I’m more than a little bit curious how that came about. How old is the son..?

[–] did_you_find_violets@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

he’s 16. high school is a big (and hardcore) deal in Korea & they want him to have his own space in order to study in peace. this living situation is also a result of their son, as they wanted a place in an area with great schools and hagwons - so expensive area. child first lifestyle basically, lmao.

Ah, yep, that checks out. Korea (and to a similar but lesser extent, Japan) is kinda wild like that. I heard about some stuff like that from my (Korean) ex’s extended family.

Btw - assuming you’re into interesting and tasty food, you should try soy marinated raw crab (Ganjang-gejang / 간장게장) from a good shop - I tried some first time I went to Seoul and fucking LOVED it, and actively sought it out the next time I went lol. Definitely nonstandard and “adventurous” for a western-acclimated palate, but it’s very fucking tasty if you are down for it. It’s definitely way better in Korea at a place that does it very fresh - you can get them jarred in a bunch of Asian groceries (in the US at least), but the taste and texture is not nearly as good, imo.

It's like a study hall where students pay to have a private quiet place to study. Sometimes with tutoring

[–] fushuan@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 7 hours ago

So, like paid library boxes.

Living up to regional stereotypes of being space efficient!

[–] Tonuka@feddit.org 2 points 1 day ago

Yo is that the same guy from your last post

[–] Pudutr0n@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago
