Yesterday, a reporter asked why Marco Rubio why the US signed the MoU when Point 5 clearly says that Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz. Rubio says that he doesn't interpret the document to say that.

Upon signing this Memorandum of Understanding, the Islamic Republic of Iran will make arrangements, to the best of its ability, for the safe passage of commercial vessels, free of charge for 60 days, from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman and vice versa. Commercial shipping will begin immediately and will be fully established within 30 days, subject to the removal of technical and military obstacles and demining operations carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Islamic Republic of Iran will consult with the Sultanate of Oman regarding the future administration and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with applicable international law and the sovereign rights of coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz, and will also exchange views with other Gulf coastal states.

It very clearly says that the Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz to make arrangements for commercial vessels for 60 days. Also that Iran would consult Oman for future administration of the strait. The document does not say that the US can open the strait.

The US official position is that the US doesn't know how to read the MoU document that Trump signed in France and that's why the US is attacking Iran.

my vibes interpretation is that word came down from Big Boss to just agree to whatever terms were being offered, because the paper markets around energy were showing more signs of panic/seizing and literally every real human is like, "wtf is this war and why is everything +20% $$$??"

Big Boss is mercurial as hell and we know he doesn't read or digest information during any briefing, but it probably got through that the military/logistics people wanted a pause since the entire strategy they banked on is failing while ordnance is being expended faster than it can be made.

then a week later, they're back at it blowing shit up because they're idiots/impatient and it's all "no i never said that, just shut up about it and watch me do this. i can do whatever i want." it's pretty clear the creatures of administration is absolutely all-in on loyalism to the trump project. i'm sure all the MAGA endorsements winning the GOP primaries sent a signal to the worms that trump is the party and the party is trump. so they'll all willing to play Red Light, Green Light with the imperial economy to probably try and capitalize their personal piggy banks on the shocks as much as possible.

While it’s not likely to stop any one combatant from completing their mission, it is a legitimate acknowledgment of the war crimes enacted by US.

There will be a reckoning whether legal, karmic or societal ..the world is witnessing all of this.

Documenting, spelling it out and reminding folks of exactly what they’re doing is vital.

This is an absurd accusation. Iran has been incredibly restrained when interacting with the US and Israel. When Trump pulled out of the JCPOA in 2018, Iran continued to follow the JCPOA.

All of Iran's attacks have on US bases have been proportional to the US attacks. The media exaggerates and says that Iran has attacked many countries, but it only attacks the US bases in those countries, bases which attacked Iran first.

Honestly I think Iran has been too restrained with the US. I think Iran should stop giving so much leniency to US fuckery.

Iran doesn't want to have nukes because of religious reasons. Iran should have nukes because it is the only form of deterrence that the Imperialist forces understand.

The US murdered 160 Iranian school girls on the very first day of the 2026 US war against Iran. Not accidentally. Intentionally. The US bombed the same school again shortly later to kill the rescuers.

Your post said "this is the pot calling the kettle black". Esmaeil Baqaei urged US troops to not commit war crimes. The idiom you used is an accusation of hypocrisy. I think people interpreted your comment to say that Iran commits war crimes as often as the United States.

I disagree with the Iranian government because they killed a lot of protestors and sometimes women over hijab issues. I am disgusted with both sides right now. I'm also very upset about the Iranian girls who were killed at the school recently. The US is becoming a cess pit in general.

It's my understanding that most Iranians are cool but have a shitty gov. The US gov is really shitty and getting worse every day. A government does not need to commit war crimes to be shitty. If that was the offense that led to the deletion of the comment, then so be it. Just because Iran is a victim of aggression in this case does not mean their regime is made of nice people. If my country and the Iranian people ever have justice, we'll live through the rule of all these bastards and hopefully Israel will disappear in the fold somewhere too.

It does not matter if you agree with governance structure of Iran, at all. It does not factor into the situation of the war at all. Their governance is a civil issue and it will be decided by the people who live there.

You've conceded that you are not aware the Iran has committed war crimes but also you're upset that Iran "killed a lot of protestors" ie Iran allegedly killed pro-US insurrectionists. US government officials (ex Mike Pompeo) said that these "protestors" were being backed by Mossad and Trump said that he gave them guns. These "protestors" are people who accepted weapons from an enemy state and tried to incite a civil war on the behest of that enemy state that started a different war with Iran in 2025.
