"the light was on"

My better 3/4 likes to ask me for info on random stuff. I like to ask if they want short or long answer.

[–] vrek@programming.dev 1 points 1 week ago

Give me random info, make it long.

"take me on an adventure" usually gets the best responses

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago

Been doing this for most of my life, already.

That is one of my most used phrases. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started telling someone something simple, 10 random side conversations later, maybe I’ll remember to get to the point. It’s there that I hit them with “short story long” and then finally wrap it up…

Reading the Malazan Books

Five books in you're back where you began.

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 week ago

oh man, I read those. I think I got to book 8 (almost finished it) and called it quits. Erikson spends too much time later in the series on characters I could not give a shit about.

I love Tehol Bedic, Karsa, and all the other main characters. He later takes a hard left turn, and introduces some half-breed Tiste Andii, and prattles on about their bullshit for like 2 books.

I read the Wheel of time several times. I read long technical documents for work. And I couldn't hack it. Mind you I was doing audio books format, but still. fack.
