yeah i remember how shocked i was recently when i told somebody "the farmers don't grow food, the plants grow food". and they responded with "yeah but that's their fate. plants literally exist to be eaten" and i was like "what if you said that about people? some people literally exist to be enslaved?"
point is, we treat nature with no respect about how it feels. this goes for plants but also other animals. it's quite weird if you think about it.
It's pretty horrible. The more I understand abt plants, the more I'm like - shit, this really don't wanna be eaten.

They are protected from other predators which would give them a much more painful death
...I'm not a vegan but wow. Cattle live a whole life of horror. Pretending that eating meat is more moral than than eating plants because they suffer less is plain deliusion.

Are you trying to say we need to grant plants personhood?
I think you might be creating a false equivalence when comparing using plants for stuff to literal slavery. Just a little bit.
So are all plants and animals other than humans.
Nothing in nature is getting married before having kids except us.
Imagine going through all the trouble of pulling this stunt off, just to find out that the only thing it really did for society is to give it a new meme template.
Their "stunt" was an ad for their netflix special. They are also sponsored by an energy drink comoany. They had the observation deck cleared and stuff.
Well, if you’re gonna go through all that trouble, don’t unveil the world’s most useless fucking sign. They deserve to be a meme.

What is the story behind this new meme format?
For anybody also having a hard time reading that partially folded flag, or finding the text within the 1000 words article, it's this:

Agreed with the other comment, that's the most useless sign ever.
Even more useless was celebrating their engagement that way. My wife and I just posted about it on Facebook and went out for burgers or something.
