Well, if you’re gonna go through all that trouble, don’t unveil the world’s most useless fucking sign. They deserve to be a meme.

[–] Allero@lemmy.today 2 points 12 hours ago

It was made for a proposal

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 10 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah... a message of peace? Super lame.

Don't they know promoting hatred and violence is what all the cool kids are into now?

[–] kibblebits@quokk.au 1 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

And what impact do you think that had? Real impact. Nothing? Is that what you guessed? Because you’re right!

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

What impact do messages of hatred towards your enemies have?

[–] kibblebits@quokk.au 0 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

What impact have messages of “love vs power” ever had on society?

I think… none.

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Again, what impact do messages of hatred towards your enemies have?

It's possible flying a banner on a big building won't have any impact no matter what message you put on it. Do you really think people would change their view on any issue because of a slogan on a flag?

[–] kibblebits@quokk.au 1 points 1 hour ago

I think people are smarter than you, yes.

[–] irish_link@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Right?!

They should post stupid stuff online for fun instead! That makes a real difference!

[–] kibblebits@quokk.au 1 points 11 hours ago

Well they started a meme. So I guess that’s something.

[–] erusuoyera@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The vapidness of the original message is what makes the memes work.

[–] sbv@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago

It was a pretty shit sign.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I do wonder what kind of sign would be 'useful', though.

Eat at Joe's Free coffee between 9 and 11

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 20 hours ago

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Not how that works.
