All the bigger ones got too into flashy productions and now their videos take 9-18 months to produce, plus they got famous enough they can have other hustles doing acting gigs and whatnot.
The ones left do really dry video essays that don't involve pour milk on themselves in a bathtub or 16 costume changes.
left-liberal breadtube pioneers switching to just talking about art and culture is probably for the best ngl, they know more about it and can engage in more self-obsessed theatrics without having to dress it up as anything more than that

I was actually surprised at that one. She's had some Lib takes in the past but seemed overall to be fairly principled, but nah their take was maybe worse than Contra's.
She wants her acting career to take off. Which seems unlikely whether she abandons any principles or not. I think she's gotten as far into Hollywood as her internet fame is gonna allow. I'm willing to bet it's pretty hard for a trans woman in her mid 30s to break into the movie business and probably impossible to get big.

Everyone forgets that the label was created by radlib redditors circa 2017 as a means to identify channels that were not actively components of the fash pipeline being aggresively pushed by youtube at the time. It was just about wanting to enjoy youtube slop with less risk of getting milkshake ducked... not trying to prop up youtubers up as the vanguard of the revolution.
Of course this created an audience which the same youtube algorithm and incentives ran it's course to simultaneosly radicalize (in the sense of needing increasingly hotter takes to stand out) and subsume what critique existed.
While breadtubers are usually bad the youtube landscape in general has improved from what it was back when any given video was a coinflip as to whether is would promote white replacement cospiracies... I think? tbh nowdays I only watch youtube videos by rss or hexbear links so I dunno.
