Just last week, though, Durbin voted to confirm two of Trump’s nominees, David Clay Fowlkes and Aaron Peterson, to serve as life-tenured federal judges. And he’s not the only one: During Trump’s second term, 19 Democrats have voted to confirm at least one of Trump’s nominees. New Hampshire Senators Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen have voted to confirm six and seven nominees, respectively, and Rhode Island senator Sheldon Whitehouse, who sits on the Judiciary Committee, has voted for five. Among Senate Democrats, Durbin and Virginia Senator Tim Kaine are tied for the lead in this ignominious category with eight yes votes apiece.

It like they are working as a team. But that'd be crazy, we'd need some sort of massive file database containing troves of evidence on how these people will cover work with each other to keep themselves wealthy and powerful, regardless of outwards political views.

Oh wait... We have those.

I know! I know! Because Schumer's a worthless controlled-opposition piece of shit!

Because they're taking campaign finance money from the same sources as the GOP.

Their “controlled opposition” setting is permanently ON.

“controlled ~~opposition~~”

Ftfy. An opposition party actually has to oppose .

Performative opposition party. Still need that donor money. And issues and quotes for Mothership campaigns.

Controlled opposition is just performative opposition. They don’t actually oppose anything. When given power they “fumble” the ball at the 1 yard line and inevitably lose the next election for incompetence.

David Clay Fowlkes has a history as a career prosecutor and state attorney. He passed 54 to 40.

Cristian Stevens is the same, a private lawyer and then an assistant attorney for the state and finally for the last 5 years a judge.

If you want to know why then look no further than the supreme court. Look at his cabinet, too. Look at Pete Hegseth. If the GOP finds a loyal partisan then they demonstrably do not need permission from the DNC to get them into power. Engaging in these discussions and voting on compromises is damage control.

Partly I wonder if it's just because some people like to watch the world burn...

I am not familiar with the nominees in this case. Are they the typical Trump unqualified pieces of shit?

I read the sentence quoted and thought "that sounds a little bit too much like team sports." But then I also thought about how ridiculous the real world has become, so maybe zero support was the correct amount.
