There's something here about Greta Thunberg being a blonde, blue-eyed Nordic woman and Peter Thiel being an openly gay man who looks constantly on the verge of a heart attack but I can't think of a good punchline

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 15 points 9 hours ago

Hail Satan then

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 52 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

One person wants to stop the collapse of our ecosystem.

The other wants to inject the blood of the young into their veins in a bid for immortality.

Who sounds more like the antichrist?

[–] Pentacat@hexbear.net 19 points 9 hours ago

It’s a good thing for Thiel that Americans are illiterate in pretty much all media.

Man who is the antichrist says what

[–] Lovely_sombrero@hexbear.net 20 points 10 hours ago

He already said this multiple times in the past. Such a weirdo.

[–] radio_free_asgarthr@hexbear.net 28 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I've said it before, but I am sure these lectures are just a form of SEO. So, now when people google Peter Thiel Antichrist, they get discussions of this shit instead of people accusing him of being the antichrist.

I don't believe this guy is a christian, wtf does he keep talking about the antichrist for

[–] chgxvjh@hexbear.net 2 points 2 hours ago

He can't be christian, they'd have to construct a new circle of hell just for him.

The best thing about christianity is that it's exploitable by anyone, even non-christians!

I'm mostly joking but there's truth to the idea that most religions are pretty easy to take advantage of. Marx saw religion as an indicator of immiseration in his opiate of the masses quote but the sad truth of most religions is that the more accurately/fundamentally they're followed by their adherents the more evil the acts committed by those adherents in its name, except for the ones that don't really have a strict dogma to follow.

Judaism/Islam/Christianity, if followed to the letter, would have their followers kill so many people for silly reasons, the overwhelming majority just honestly don't follow them that closely because most people have an intuitive understanding of morals and ethics that these religions essentially try to override if followed too closely.

I'm pretty sure that isn't a biblical thing and just something. The only time the term is used is in reference to people that arent Christian with the implication they oppose him. Like a guy that's against Christ, or anti-christ. The whole son of Satan thing is fanfic

[–] Captainautism@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

It is fanfic that derives from the book of revelations. They take the part that talks about a “great horn” that rises out of the beast with seven heads.

I’m rusty on the details, because I left the church almost 20 years ago now.

[–] Crucible@hexbear.net 14 points 11 hours ago

Yeah, the evangelical antichrist is made up from the rider on the white horse and the beast from Revelation, and rando bits of Isaiah and Daniel for flavour. I think the term 'anti-christ' is initially used in Acts to describe the inquisitor-types like pre-Damascus Paul who was going around deconverting and/or killing people

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 9 points 9 hours ago

Can this literal white devil finish molting into death’s pale horse so we can light this candle and get this shit over with?

In the Left Behind novels, two of the things the Antichrist do are global disarmament and a significant transfer of wealth from the Global North to the Global South

[–] shath@hexbear.net 3 points 2 hours ago

i love the antichrist!!!!!

[–] Omegamint@hexbear.net 30 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Lmao I love how the author had to include the transfer of wealth bit. Evangelicals are fucking pathetic

[–] BeanisBrain@hexbear.net 9 points 9 hours ago

As the great philosopher Negativland once said, "Christianity is stupid, communism is good"

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 16 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I mean...based on the views of the author, most of the global south woildnt get raptured. Antochrist or not, they'd have the numbers due to lack of Evangelicals im the American style

[–] shath@hexbear.net 1 points 2 hours ago

evangelicals going to heaven is a deeply funny concept

[–] Rojo27@hexbear.net 31 points 12 hours ago

That's something the antichrist would say to misdirect people.

[–] came_apart_at_Kmart@hexbear.net 16 points 11 hours ago

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 14 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Somebody has got to scream it to his face at one point. Its honestly just disrespectful coming from his mouth.

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 1 points 3 hours ago

has got to scream it to his face

Look at his face; anyone who got that close would be screaming for a different reason

His creepy intimate nights with his wife sound like scream tracks for a horror movie
