Liam Ramos, 5, isn’t the only child in detention. Teachers and parents describe kids being hunted by federal agents.

School leaders are caught in the middle of this, trying to keep providing kids with a safe space to learn as their friends disappear and children cry about not knowing whether their parents will be home when they get off the bus.

Even Zena Stendvik, the superintendent of the Columbia Heights public school district, often patrols outside with parents and staff.

“I stopped wearing my high heels to work,” Stendvik told HuffPost. “I wear my boots to work, because I have had to run out onto a corner or into the back of the high school.”

Evil aside, it doesn’t even make sense. What problem are they pretending this solves?

[–] I_Jedi@lemmy.today 5 points 7 hours ago

They believe that the children have foreign parents, and are beneficiaries of birthright citizenship. Torturing these children to death keeps the nation pure in their eyes.

[–] kieron115@startrek.website 5 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

The problem of non-white people being in "their" country, I would guess. But I don't care to dig too deeply into the psyche of these monsters.

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Most of us don’t want to turn the entire country into a fucking HOA

[–] kieron115@startrek.website 1 points 7 hours ago

hence the quotes around their. these people are flat out anti-america.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 7 points 10 hours ago

There are still over 1000 children from the First Family Separation Policy in Trump 1.0 that haven't been reunited with their parents, and likely never will be. Where are they? Nobody knows, and nobody seems to be asking.

MAGA is all psychopathic pedophiles, so the best guess is that the pretty ones have been sold to sex slavers, the compliant ones are house slaves, and the rest were sent on nature hikes in the Everglades.

And that's what's going to happen to these kids, too.

[–] AlecSadler@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Surprised there isn't at least one sharpshooter in the area that could pick off a couple of these people from a safe distance.

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 4 points 7 hours ago

One or two school shooters would keep the ICE agents out of the building.

[–] sparkles@piefed.zip 73 points 18 hours ago (3 children)

They should be reported as potential shooters, send the school into a lockdown, call the fucking news, every parent, etc. The whole shabang. Because these are, at best, unauthorized adult strangers attempting to approach those students under your care.

[–] bus_factor@lemmy.world 29 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Seattle schools recently went under lockdown because ICE was spotted in the area. They're treated like any other potential active shooter.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 19 points 14 hours ago

Because they ARE active shooters.

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 15 points 16 hours ago

It might vary by district. Some schools in Minnesota you can only enter by one door, unlocked by the front desk only. The front doors are bullet resistant glass.

In the case of Law Enforcement presence, the school goes into silent lockdown. Then the district Legal Council is sent to verify the warrant.

The attorney then has to verify with the signing judge, and then the individuals listed on he warrant will be brought to the entrance by the legal council (one at a time).

In case it's not obvious, that can take HOURS to do. On purpose.

It's ok, Trump made pedophiles legal again. They are just doing what dear leader does.

[–] triptrapper@lemmy.world 26 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

The other day I there was a request for rapid response by my work. When I got there, several school buses were idling in the street, with parents lined up to meet them, for like 25 minutes. School policy is that kids stay on the bus until ICE has left the area.

There was an SUV with 3 masked up agents just sitting there, heckling observers. They said, "If you guys would leave us alone, we could do our job." I said, "Oh yeah? What's your job?" and they said, "Catching the criminal illegal aliens and pedophile predators. Don't you want us to protect the kids?" These smug fucks spend their weekday afternoons looming around bus stops, and if they miss a chance to snatch someone, they'll settle for scaring little kids. The worst of the worst. There were about 50 parents, teachers and neighbors at the intersection by the time they gave up and left.

They're not winning the war, but they're laying siege against our time, money and mental bandwidth. It's exhausting.

[–] 0_o7@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 7 hours ago

Catching the criminal illegal aliens and pedophile predators. Don't you want us to protect the kids?

There's one in the white house, ~~running~~ ruining the country, but they're obviously fine with it.

[–] IchNichtenLichten@lemmy.wtf 4 points 10 hours ago

I hate to say it, but it's past time for armed militias to assemble and run these sick fucks out of there. They need to know that the people won't fire the first shot but if one is fired, they and their dumbass buddies all die.

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 7 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

"Catching the criminal illegal aliens and pedophile predators. Don't you want us to protect the kids?"

Oh. Ok. So, can you show me the signed warrants that you have that prove you have cause to circle schools? How many pedophile predators have you caught that are white citizens or do you only look for ones with a darker shade? Have you caught the one in the big White House yet? There have been a whole slew of files provided the public on that one!

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 3 points 10 hours ago

Have they looked in the mirror? Because they're the strangers hanging around the school watching the children and thinking about taking them.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 12 points 14 hours ago

Not surprised at all that the chomo-in-chief as become the kidnapper-in-chief.

Where are all those QNuts? What happened to all those nutters? This is the real Pizzagate, you fucking assholes.

[–] Shirasho@lemmings.world 31 points 18 hours ago

Pedophiles circling a school hoping to kidnap children, and the sky is blue. More at 11.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 30 points 18 hours ago

Minnesota is doing it right, you guys are freaking amazing.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

Probably all the Karens that were queening out over shutdowns/social distancing (because they were very much emotionally invested in "Trump's economy" have the line go up so he could get re-elected) and squealing "my body, my choice" and being AntiVa and AntiMa all during Covid probably rushed to sign up.

Remember all those Karen riots they had?

[–] Alloi@lemmy.world 9 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago) (1 children)

i bet those government pedophile gestapo agents sure are.

there zero shot these agents arent raping children in these facilities.

[–] gnuthing@piefed.social 5 points 17 hours ago

They are, there is an article on it but I honestly can't look it up without getting triggered. They are raping women too, have been reports consistently since 2007

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 7 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Is it time for the left to embrace home schooling? We can't have people legally required to come to a place where they are not safe. That's unethical.

[–] triptrapper@lemmy.world 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Minneapolis Public Schools has been offering a remote option since Jan. 9th, and nearby districts have done the same or are discussing it. It's safer but presents the same issues as the pandemic, i.e. strain on teachers and requiring a parent to be home with the kids.

[–] bus_factor@lemmy.world 7 points 16 hours ago

It's also similar in that it's not safe for the parents to go to work either.

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 7 points 18 hours ago

Doesn't surprise me knowing them.
