The Texas politician said he picked them up from the detention center and brought them back to Minneapolis early Sunday.

Finally a useful politician

I am relieved this kid has been released, but I remember that there's still over 1000 people in Dilley, and Dilley is one among many. These kids are being fed rotten food, given dirty water for baby formula, often separated from their families. With ICE committing so many crimes, how many of these kids are getting trafficked?

They are, there is an article on it but I honestly can't look it up without getting triggered. They are raping women too, have been reports consistently since 2007

A full strike is definitely more effective, but that doesn't mean that a slowdown strike does not have its place. It has been used historically by the same great grandparents that went on strike as well as more recently. It can be used on its own or as a precursor to a full strike

I don't think that we should discount the idea just because a full strike would be better. A slowdown strike could be organized next week, could expand as ppl learn about it, could be organized without waiting for people to form unions or set up mutual aid. The website you shared talks about earning trust in nonprofits for months to set up mutual aid networks. Setting up a union also takes time. People want to act now. A slowdown strike can also build worker unity

Here's a couple of websites discussing:

https://museumofprotest.org/methods/slowdown-strike/

https://www.tactics.nonviolenceinternational.net/tactics/Slowdown%20strikes

https://archive.iww.org/about/solidarityunionism/directaction/1/

It basically means we reduce output across the board. For instance, if I work in a data center, I fix 5 servers per day instead of 10. If I work in an ER, I work as usually for emergent patients, but for non-urgent patients I reduce how many I can treat per hour. It has been used previously as a precursor to a strike or as a stand alone action. In 2015, the longshoremen union had a 4 month showdown resulting in $2 billion in losses per day

We could expand the slow down outside of the workplace as well. Like we all use the self checkout slower, drive slower, eat slower at restaurants (esp national chains w/out waiters)

I've been thinking about these 1 day strikes and no shopping days we've been having. The economic blackouts seem to not have much effect, I've seen it compared to a day of bad weather like we recently had with the snow and ice. Likewise, the 1 day strikes aren't achieving an actual loss of revenue that is enough to lead to change. Most Americans can't go on strike long-term as we live paycheck to paycheck, we don't have savings and we don't have mutual aid networks in place. Perhaps doing a nationwide slowdown would be more effective as we would actually be decreasing profits for the rich. It is something that could pick up steam instead of fizzle out. We can combine this with very clear demands instead of a general I don't like this admin vibe

If we want to defend our polling places, it will be because we organize ourselves with groups like the Black Panthers. Democrats work for the rich, they are never going to recruit actual leftist orgs because of the threat they pose to capitalism and the rich

Honestly if I'd been more 2A before, I'd be down there already. I think of what I would want if it was my 5 year old locked up, if my baby had formula mixed with dirty water. The kids chanting "let us out" is so heartbreaking, I'm like bawling because I just wanna hug those kids and make them safe. It is past time to storm the bastilles and get those kids out

Found this set of first aid manuals for protesters. There is a book as well as a street medic one-page and a field guide. Field guide comes in English and Spanish

"Riot Medicine is a full-length textbook that covers everything you need to become a medic. The 486 pages include organizing, medcine, equipment, and tactics. It is written for those with no medical training and no experience at protests, but medical practitioners and seasoned protesters will still find it useful."
