I still cannot believe he buried his ex-wife in a drainage ditch off the side of a public driveway. I've seen more tasteful burials for dogs.

Fortunately the tax break they did get did not apply to the entire golf course. But of course what a disgraceful, distasteful, and morally repugnant thing to do!

May he and his ilk be afforded all rights and due process they’ve shown others

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 35 points 1 week ago

Oh now you care about due process rights?

This made me irrationally angry. Or maybe rationally angry. I can't tell anymore.

He's only ever seen the word when it's preceded by "drive-” and that's how fast food places have decided to spell it.

Meh, it's Twitter and English desperately needs a spelling reform. Kinda similar to how Hitler abolished Gothic print / black letter.

[–] DarkSirrush@piefed.ca -4 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Thats how Americans think through is spelt. Its even in their dictionary!

I'm a American and never seen it spelt that way, it's always been through... did som research looks like it came from Scottish english

Looked up Europe and it's also drive thru? I guess it's everywhere and not just those pesky Americans

It's almost like abbreviations abbreviate... for brevity.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 week ago

Ha, it really is.. What do you know.

We have video of this guy doing a gum bump, clear as day, and nothing was said of it but a couple of late night jokes. Raise your hand if you think you would slide on that.

Also called a gummer or number, referencing it's numbing effects. It's when you dip your finger in cocaine and rub it on your gums.

[–] frostysauce@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, duh. It didn't click for me written that way. Thanks!

[–] A7thStone@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I've never done cocaine, and I recognized the motion he did immediately.

[–] frostysauce@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Oh, I've done it plenty of times I just had no context and still don't know what video y'all're talking about. I'm certainly not going to look it up or anything.

Could an American enlighten with the backstory? I know little about the orange man

[–] Soulg@ani.social 19 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

He was convicted of crimes and they're trying to pretend it was unfair

If you mean the bottom image, Trump had his ex wife buried on the grounds of one of his golf courses, most likely (but not explicitly stated to be why) to make it be considered a cemetery and thus tax exempt

[–] Bakkoda@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

Ex wife that fell down the stairs maybe somewhat near a time that her family was maybe gonna testify about something.

[–] Midnight1938@reddthat.com 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Damn, i thought his dad was dead. Wild bury, imagine someone makes a hole there

Edit: forgot orange man has son

[–] RichardDegenne@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 week ago

In your defense, he also probably forgot that he had a son as well.
