Bro was gonna be so supple...
He wanted to be supple... but he couldn't be subtle.
The vast majority of "loss prevention" interactions are just "I think you forgot to scan this, let me do it for you" and "oops I forgot I had that in my pocket, let me pay for it now" but these do not make for viral social media rage bait.
But the way the clerk just turned the guys bag upside down and dumped everything onto the belt. The look on the face of the young female clerk at the next aisle when she saw the lotion. Who was ineffectually reassured. And that guy straight ran out.
A drama during quiet hours.
there is no feeling like the feeling of strength you get after drinking a few 22 oz beers while absolutely coated, head to toe, in lotion.
Lol why the fuck you steeling hand lotion and hiding it with beer and pizza? My mans got his shit all ass backwards.
If he's got twenty bottles it's because he thinks he can sell it.
Yeah but who buys hand lotion on the black market?
You could prolly resell on like Amazon or eBay. Depending on the product might net you a couple hundred bucks, they don't check that shit
Same people who buy laundry detergent in the same way.
Do people do that?
In the US at least.
Lots of convenience and grocery stores in bigger US cities have the laundry detergent under lock and key because it gets stolen so much. At least, that was the case when I lived in San Francisco a few years ago.
Inequality is very bad here.
Wow. I have never seen that before. Why laundry detergent specifically?
Everyone needs it, doesn't go bad, expensive in the store so you can flip it fairly easily and still make money.
Fair. To be perfectly honest, I’m not broke, but if someone in my neighbourhood was selling stolen detergent at a fraction of the cost? I’d buy the shit out of it.
People have hung fliers in the laundry room here selling bulk detergent.
Sounds like paradise to me. Only if they can guarantee it’s stolen though.
where i work is like that but recently they have upgraded the cameras so i suspect they may be running shitty AI tools now to identify and record like walmart does
the store intranet is such garbage i wonder if that's even possible
I was at Aldi the other day and the fucking self checkout popped up with a video of me and a bunch of red boxes on myself and the items in the scanned items area, asking me if I missed an item while scanning. Fucking shit pissed me off to no end. Yeah I'm gonna steal the $1 bundle of bananas, you caught me! Let's accuse me of theft now
whoa.. i wouldn't expect that from aldi.. that's pretty fuckin garbage
Dialectics
they could be doing the walmart thing where they monitor it until it's a felony
I did the math, if we value filling a random cup with soda without paying for it, assume it's a $3 theft (huge overestimation of avg cost in my area), then consider the statute of limitations and minimum dollar amount (on the lower end) for my state, plus my rate of five finger discounted refills, if it were even possible to detect that all of my refills were not paid for and it could be tracked across all my pillagables, by the time I reach the minimum dollar amount for a misdemeanor, the oldest events had already expired via statute of limitations.
between folks with really dry skin.
