That's a meme I've not seen in a long time!

Middle-aged mutant ninja turtles!

You just won the thread.

Nazi parties are cringey and gross

So that's a joke/farce/facade account, but that event was real, and it was cringey.

It's not a dog whistle, though. They said so themselves. It's perfectly normal for ears to bleed in a quiet environment.

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Stephen Miller quietly contemplating if he could drink the ninja turtle's blood before he returns to his sarcophagus.

Kristi Noem getting all excited and waving her hand around with a make-believe gun because she thought the turtle was a large bipedal puppy.

Thank you for sharing, be warned though, that link is 24k ick.

[–] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't think I know what 24k means in this context.

Gilded. 24karat. as in Gold.

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 66 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Calling vanilla ice the godfather of rap should be a criminal offence

[–] kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world 53 points 6 days ago (1 children)

He called him Vanilla Ice Cube. I dont think this guy even knows who he is.

[–] bluesheep@sh.itjust.works 5 points 6 days ago

I read over that until I saw your post, goddamn that's idiotic lmao

[–] nandeEbisu@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago (1 children)

In his own words, "anything less than the best is a felony" so Vanilla Ice himself would back you up on that.

[–] axexrx@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Is that from the movie he made about trying to bang a highschool girl?

[–] nandeEbisu@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

It's from Ice Ice Baby. The only song anyone actually knows by him.

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 54 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Damn, dude, fucking Vanilla Ice, Snoop Dogg, and Kanye West? No wonder the stupid little Gen Z bastards voted for Trump.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, Uncle Dogg wasted no time being a shit bird this time around. Funny how he completely 180'd himself for this go around, and now just tells people to not worry about his life.

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 6 days ago

That tracks. 🙄

[–] jack_of_sandwich@lemmy.sdf.org 41 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Vanilla Ice is relevant to Gen Z?

[–] sem@piefed.blahaj.zone 5 points 6 days ago

No joke, the kids at my summer camp loved memorizing and performing ice ice baby.

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

In the same way that Elvis is relevant to Gen X and David Bowie is relevant to Millennials.

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yea... There is no comparison between Elvis or Bowie vs. fucking Robert Van Winkle. XD

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 2 points 6 days ago (2 children)

His era was before and he's still being talked about right now, I think that alone is proof.

[–] Soggy@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

He's an eternal VH1 "We ❤️ the 90s" one-hit-wonder, it's definitely not the same thing as the impact Elvis and Bowie made on music and culture more broadly.

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online -3 points 6 days ago

No, of course not, but relevant all the same.

He wasn't really relevant in his own Era. Had one single and then was a joke.

[–] hateisreality@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nah, he lives in Miami so he was cheap

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)
[–] hateisreality@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Suge Knight took that shit in 92

[–] bytesonbike@discuss.online 11 points 1 week ago

I don't think there was any Gen-Z folks attending a Mar-a-Lago event unless they were staff. Surprisingly a lot of Gen Alpha folks because that's perfect breeding age for these Epstein fans.

[–] Bleys@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Gen X*

Those are all Gen Xers, and the Gen X vote was 100x more influential for Trump in 2024 than Gen Z. I doubt much of Gen Z can name a single Snoop Dogg song, or knows who Vanilla Ice is at all.

[–] Turret3857@infosec.pub 6 points 6 days ago

uh. there s "smoke weed every day" followed by "GET NO SCOPED" and then a dorito turns into the Illuminati and the x files theme plays.

thats a snoop Dogg right

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 0 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

The biggest shift rightward of a youth democraphic ever recorded was during the 2024 election, the majority of Gen Z men voted for Trump and Trump also made large gains among Gen Z women even though the majority still voted for Harris.

If not for Gen Z, Trump would have gotten less votes than in 2020.

[–] Bleys@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Youth vote turnout is always low, and it still net favored Kamala. Conversely Gen X vote participation was significantly higher, as expected from an older generation, and it was significantly more favorable to Trump.

I’m not saying Gen Z’s right wing shift isn’t concerning, but it’s more a future problem. The 2024 election result is owned primarily by Gen X and Boomers (and Gen X more than Boomers, statistically).

A job he might actually qualify for.

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 15 points 1 week ago
