+1 for Voyager from me

[–] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 29 points 4 days ago

Top voted this is what I'm going with

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 22 points 4 days ago (6 children)

Voyager but the lack of the language field is not great. Posting with Voyager gets you less reach

Voyager and the website

[–] exist@sopuli.xyz 20 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Voyager. Don't remember why I stuck to this one, but the others I tried lacked some features I wanted.

[–] AstroLightz@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I like it because it is pretty much the Lemmy successor to Apollo for Reddit.

Started on Jeroba, but Thunder just felt more intuitive.

Summit and Interstellar are my two favorite's right now.

[–] Vegan_Joe@lemmy.world 26 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I second Summit.

I still have Sync because I transitioned with it from Reddit, but Summit is now my daily driver.

Boost (Android)

It was the best app for Reddit before. Now it's the best app for Lemmy.

Boost. Only problem I have is videos often only play in thumbnail and load infinitely when clicked on. Not that important for me though.

With Jerboa and Voyager there were a lot of small problems that just made the experience worse.

I've gotten comfortable with Jerboa, but also I don't get to see GIFs and stuff people post, and I'm not sure if that's a limitation of the app? I really should try some of the others though.

[–] Krudler@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

I used to use (paid) Boost but it has more bugs than an entomology lab and I'm just fucking sick of it.

Recently switched to Voyager, and it's not as feature rich, but the features are much more stable.

[–] northernlights@lemmy.today 11 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Jerboa. I find the UI very nice. Right around amount of info and density (i hate excessive padding), fully customizable colors, not 1 glitch

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

The only issue I ever experienced on Jerboa was gifs just not playing until you clicked on them and you never knew if something was supposed to be a gif or not.

[–] MidsizedSedan@lemmy.world 18 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

I'm using Jerboa, even though I saw what Blorp is like, and I'm preparing g to switch (just used to Jerboa UI)

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.zip 6 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Blorp dev here. We’d love to have you! Let me know if there is anything preventing you from switching that I can improve.

Boost and also sometimes Voyager, both are really well polished.

web browser

[–] PumpkinSkink@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago

I had to check, but voyager, evidently.

[–] flabbergast@lemmy.world 19 points 4 days ago

Connect. With Voyager as comparison.

[–] webkitten@piefed.social 5 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Boost for the longest time; but since I've been using Piefed, I mostly just use mobile Vivaldi/Firefox instead of an app (Boost still works with it; I just got used to using it over apps).

Voyager, but I wish I could see other people's modlogs, they sound funny

sink still works for me. what's wrong with it

[–] HatchetHaro@pawb.social 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I use Boost. Not open-source, but the ads are non-intrusive to me and it just feels like home.

[–] winkerjadams@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 4 days ago

I just paid the $5 or whatever. Felt right to support the dev after using it on reddit for so long

[–] dadarobot@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 4 days ago
[–] InFerNo@lemmy.ml 15 points 4 days ago

I use Jerboa. It's closest to the app I used for Reddit (Joey) after a few tweaks.

Flat list of posts, small thumbnails on the side. Clean interface. Default sort is all top day.

[–] DaPorkchop_@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

As a former Sync user of nearly 10 years, I've moved to Summit now. It's the closest to Sync of all the apps I tried.

Summits been solid for years

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 11 points 4 days ago

Thunder. Cross-platform and it has a very nice uncluttered UI. Works with piefed too.

[–] gingernate@sopuli.xyz 3 points 3 days ago

I keep hoping sync will be updated
