So pretty much the second Trump steps into any UN territory, he should be arrested.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 hours ago

Have him take a walk around Greenland. I'm sure that it will be necessary so that he can evaluate it for US occupation.

My fellow Arctic peeps: ikykwim.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 13 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

Greenland should persona non grata him and deport his arse to el salvador. Landry even dresses like a clown. All he is missing is the clown horn.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 6 points 12 hours ago

Because the American government let's him do whatever the fuck he wants, he assumes other countries will too

[–] Typotyper@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Can all countries simply refuse his entry. Refuse to talk to him. Make no meeting, attend no conferences etc. If the US makes a stink by saying he's a diplomat, too bad. Countries have that right.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 1 points 3 hours ago

Basically, that's how they treated Vance when he came to throw his weight around. They totally ignored him until his posse got bored and went home.

[–] MyMindIsLikeAnOcean@piefed.world 1 points 12 hours ago

Then he’d call them a national security threat, embargo them, and expand the military base the US has there.

[–] FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

YES!!

The sovereign nation of Greenland can at any time declare their airspace to be GREENLAND ONLY AND FRIENDLY and shoot down any invading aircraft, or lock on enough weapons to make the pilot realize its u turn or eject.

PLEASE THREATEN AIR FORCE ONE IT IS CARRYING TRAITORS

[–] setsubyou@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

Greenland can’t really shoot anything down because they have no military of their own.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 4 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (1 children)

Then, for the love of fairy godmothers, do it. Trump has been doing whatever the fuck he wants with no consequences. if the Untied States won't draw a line, other countries need to. I don't want to hear about what can be done, I want it done

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago)

Agreed. The assertion of imagined power often becomes real power. Not pushing back on fake power is actually ceding the outcome.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 10 points 22 hours ago

Trump is a terrorist

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 8 points 21 hours ago

Trump will do anything to avoid the epstein proof of his degeneracy, but he's all out of time. Don't worry Greenland, he will very soon be a piece of bad history.

[–] SkabySkalywag@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Either this mf has the delusional cojones of a Bond villain right before he dies in an explosion

Or, they know this will fail and are ramping the rhetoric to ensure this will distract as much as possible from whatever they need.

[–] Bakkoda@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

Monkeys don't really care where they throw the shit because just throwing it is the best and easiest part.

[–] this@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Yes indeed it is one way to distract from the Epstein files.

[–] bagsy@lemmy.world 49 points 1 day ago (1 children)

All of this becuase the US wont put pedophiles, crooks, and theives in jail because they are rich.

Truly pathetic.

[–] medicsofanarchy@lemmy.world 55 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Smoke and mirrors. Where are the rest of the unredacted Trump-Epstein files?

[–] DreasNil@feddit.nu 8 points 1 day ago

Came here to say this ☝🏻

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 69 points 1 day ago (5 children)

His ambassador to Canada wants to make us the 51st state too. And with congress just passing a spending bill that will give the military over 1 trillion dollars it looks like the US is about to start annexing North America.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

What was it started when a dictatorship invaded Poland, back in 1939?

[–] Enoril@jlai.lu 3 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

Well it's obvious US, Russian and China collude to take control of other parts of the world.

US take the American continent, Russia the European and China the Asian...

The African continent is actively scouted by China and Russia right now too... Remain Australia... well... who want Australia?

It's why Trump won't push too much regarding Putin, he wants to do the same and remain in power for life.

[–] SippyCup@lemmy.ml 33 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And here I thought we only applied manifest destiny to Brown people.

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 30 points 1 day ago (2 children)

No, between Trump's made-up fentanyl pouring in to the US from Canada and Tucker Carlson's rhetoric about invading to save the Canadian people from their own leaders (https://piefed.ca/c/canada/p/409210/tucker-carlsons-canada-invasion-rhetoric-and-the-maga-fracture) there's good reason to believe they'll invade in the near future. They've spoken before about the need to secure the continent.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago

I hope there's a draft. I hope the inbred , homeschooled idiots who voted for him cry when their sons and grandsons are hauled off to Basic.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (3 children)

It's so ridiculous when they can't even effectively govern the fucking country they already have.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

They call it "small government," and the media refuses to call bullshit.

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 23 points 1 day ago

Imperialism is often seen as a compelling solution to the absolute failure of tyrants to govern domestically.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 19 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

They're not trying to effectively govern. It has been a long time since that was any concern of the Republican Party. Their government is about using force to steal whatever you can get, and enjoying cruelty towards those who can't fight back.

[–] ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Be hard to do with such terrible support of the US people.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Most Americans are too self-centered to care.

[–] ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 5 hours ago

Pretty much every person anywhere is self centered.

[–] thelivefive@startrek.website 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It's supposed to 75° here on Christmas. I wonder if that trend has anything to do with it?

[–] DreasNil@feddit.nu 38 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

Now release ALL of the Trump-Epstein files! 🙄

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 12 hours ago

Yes, hurry up and release them so we can get on with imposing no consequences whatsoever for his crimes

[–] payhn@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 day ago

I vote we start calling the files this and only this. He’s had two chances to release them and has talked about pardoning the conspirator. He also loves putting his name on things 🤷‍♂️

[–] Nalivai@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I bet they're gone already, redacted, shreded, destroyed. Why would they keep them if they can just destroy them

[–] jimerson@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (2 children)

My last bastion of hope is that some Snowden-like individual has the originals somewhere.

How I still retain the ability to hope at this point is the real mystery.

[–] Nalivai@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If at some point the US will care abou laws and constitution again, the published evidence will be enough to put all those pedos into megajail forever. As it stands, nothing will. They could publish a livefeed of Trump raping and eating children, and nothing will happen to him, and he wouldn't lose a single supporter over it. Honestly, I don't know why do they even bother with all this

[–] jimerson@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

You're not wrong. And every disgusting action taken, both foreign and domestic, is an effort to ensure that IF never sees the light of day.

By stating his hostile intentions so clearly it makes denying him entry perfectly justified.

Sounds like a piece of shit

[–] CIA_chatbot@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

I love speed rushing world war 3

[–] WereHacker@lemmy.ml 15 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Title is misleading. Greenland is a country.

[–] xor@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 12 hours ago

Technically, Greenland is a Danish autonomous territory

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 day ago

Closest I could say is “Greenland is to Denmark as Puerto Rico is to the US”

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Nope...

But Greenland is currently a semi-autonomous part of Denmark, which is unhappy about Trump's latest move.

It's not a country.

[–] BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Greenland is one of three countries in the Kingdom of Denmark, the other two countries are the Faeroese Islands and Denmark. We each have our own paliarments and institutions. But we share our Monarch, some government functions like defense and foreign policy, and our currency. Kinda like how Scotland uses the British pound and bitches about having to leave the EU.

You go to Glasgow and try telling them they aren’t a country…
