His ambassador to Canada wants to make us the 51st state too. And with congress just passing a spending bill that will give the military over 1 trillion dollars it looks like the US is about to start annexing North America.

And here I thought we only applied manifest destiny to Brown people.

No, between Trump's made-up fentanyl pouring in to the US from Canada and Tucker Carlson's rhetoric about invading to save the Canadian people from their own leaders (https://piefed.ca/c/canada/p/409210/tucker-carlsons-canada-invasion-rhetoric-and-the-maga-fracture) there's good reason to believe they'll invade in the near future. They've spoken before about the need to secure the continent.

It's so ridiculous when they can't even effectively govern the fucking country they already have.

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 24 points 1 month ago

Imperialism is often seen as a compelling solution to the absolute failure of tyrants to govern domestically.

They're not trying to effectively govern. It has been a long time since that was any concern of the Republican Party. Their government is about using force to steal whatever you can get, and enjoying cruelty towards those who can't fight back.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

They call it "small government," and the media refuses to call bullshit.

I hope there's a draft. I hope the inbred , homeschooled idiots who voted for him cry when their sons and grandsons are hauled off to Basic.

Well it's obvious US, Russian and China collude to take control of other parts of the world.

US take the American continent, Russia the European and China the Asian...

The African continent is actively scouted by China and Russia right now too... Remain Australia... well... who want Australia?

It's why Trump won't push too much regarding Putin, he wants to do the same and remain in power for life.

Be hard to do with such terrible support of the US people.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Most Americans are too self-centered to care.

[–] ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 month ago

Pretty much every person anywhere is self centered.

It's supposed to 75° here on Christmas. I wonder if that trend has anything to do with it?

What was it started when a dictatorship invaded Poland, back in 1939?
