"As soon as the land of any country has all become private property, the landlords, like all other men, love to reap where they never sowed, and demand a rent."

A) Marx - Kapital

B) Lenin - What is to be Done?

C) Mao - Report on an Investigation of the Peasant Movement in Hunan

D) Adam Smith - Wealth of Nations

He will give no thought whatsoever to his own position or fame in the Party, nor will he ever claim to be a Marx or a Lenin, nor require nor expect others to have the same high respect for him as for Marx or Lenin, for he does not think he has any right to do so. Yet such a person will enjoy the considered respect and support of the mass of the Party members just because he acts in this way, because he is always honest and loyal, brave and firm, and shows great ability in the revolutionary struggle."

A) Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung

In the event of failure, I shall be compelled to arrest the entire staff of your institutions and have them prosecuted. I have given urgent orders to increase the number of locomotives and trucks. You should immediately load the available two trains of 30 trucks each. Telegraph fulfilment."

"You are obliged to receive grain from the peasants day and night. If it is confirmed that you have not been accepting grain after 4 p.m. and compelling the peasants to wait until the morning, you will be shot."

A) Stalin

B) Trotsky

C) Lenin

D) Dzerzhinsky

Okay so I haven't read any of these and I was able to get a perfect score. It's less about having read theory and more about recognizing voice.

Okay I didn't do that well here, need to read more haha

But I have a sincere question to Hexbearers, especially those who have read a lot of theory, if you could help out a bit.

Do you think it would be better for me to read the same books everyone else around me reads, or should I focus on something that I think is important, but I don't see brought up often?

I figured it would be better if I specialized in things that I have an easier time with and find support to collaborate with, that would cover the areas where I lack in, but I could be wrong. So please do correct me where am I wrong.

somehow i read the title and thought you'd be posting these questions on twitter (aka X) and there was gonna be a poll involved and fuck me I gotta do something about my dyslexia

My guesses:

  1. D.

  2. B

  3. A??? Except it doesn’t sound exactly like his writing style so actually I’m going to go with D. Because of context and the title. Yep, D is my final answer.

  4. C??? Sounds like him??? Otherwise B. No I’m going to say C. Final answer C.

  5. C because what does this even mean.

Woof, take away the “Communist” in my name, I do not feel worthy of the title, clearly I’m not well read enough.

Confessions:

Quality I like best in man or woman: Principled.

Chief characteristic: lovingly ferocious.

Favorite Occupation: When the Soviets occupied Berlin.

Vice I hate the most: nerd-dom/geekdom about [current pop culture media franchise dreck of the moment, it was marvel movies but the zeitgeist has moved on]

Vice I excuse the most: using hard drugs

Idea of happiness: being a little sparrow sitting in a pine tree cheeping and peeping with my buddies

Idea of misery: Most of my most loved ones are irreparably broken and tend to maul me because they won’t/can’t do therapy and I have to live with it because I can’t fix them ok I’m done with this questionairre, it’s too sad.

Do we have answers?
