Christmas fruit punch is an infusion that is consumed in Mexico, traditionally in December during the posadas and on Christmas Eve, although there are also people who start consuming it from September for the national holidays and from November during the eve of the day of the dead (mainly in Mexico City and its metropolitan area).

It is prepared by boiling the ingredients in large quantities to be served during typical Christmas and winter gatherings. Traditionally, it is served very hot in individual clay pots with portions of fruit, and may or may not contain a spirit (often rum), which is added after boiling to prevent evaporation. One of the main ingredients, which gives it its blood-red color, is hibiscus water (made by boiling hibiscus flowers in water to release their red coloring). The basic fruits are apple, guava, and tejocote (Mexican hawthorn).

Mexican ponche may or may not contain alcohol and is served hot. The version with alcohol is called "ponche con piquete" (spiked ponche) because it has a "piquete" (spike) of tequila, rum, whiskey, red wine, or champagne, presented as a traditional hot infusion or as a cocktail.

This drink is commonly found at street fairs set up outside churches, where it can be enjoyed with buñuelos (fritters) or tamales. It is also sold at Christmas markets in Mexico during the famous Guadalupe-Reyes Marathon.

It is also traditionally consumed in Guatemala, even before the holidays. Fruits such as papaya, melon, and apple are used, along with sweeteners like sugar, honey, and/or cinnamon.}

Putting my tailor skills to the test with a jacket, and it's gonna be a sick-ass, black faux scale, hexagon-quilted, embroidered communism bomber jacket with a wooly hood and cuffs. The kind of garment a movie "villain" would wear

Pro tip for anyone wondering out there. Whispering when you're talking about someone doesn't work when there's only like 5 people around and you point at them.

I hate the smol beanification of the rich so much.

For any older comrades, did the ruling class always enjoy painting themselves as poor widdle babies taking on the big scawy world? Any time someone suggests a law that makes “the bargain” better for labor, here come the pigs whining about how this will hurt poor widdle “smol mom and pop businesses/landlords” to paint the haves as the real victims. Of course, they’ll help themselves to capital’s version of a minimum wage hike by raising prices and no one cares about small mom and pop workers. They just eat the losses. Same with HR, full of incompetent dipshits and they’re so extremely picky, but they act like the victim. Watch them whine about how they’re “drowning in applicants” and how the hiring process is disorganized as if those idiots aren’t running the hiring process. Maybe if all y’all stopped trying to pass the buck, hiring would be more smooth. Maybe if you all weren’t so picky and didn’t hire, you wouldn’t have so many choices your poor baby brain wouldn’t shut down.

Has this always been the case? Maybe it’s just an optimistic cope that capital didn’t have such a victim mentality before.

A bit different but here is a french poster from the 1930s that is basically saying "40h workweek will crush the workers like social security" as in if we reduce the work week to 40h the people will suffer.

I think it’s more of using fear to create consent rather than appearing as weak. In my country the capitalist class routinely says that any socialist law would tank the economy which creates fear in most people. They are speaking about small businesses because in the hegemonic ideology they are seen as "the economy" and are more liked by people than mega corpo. It also feeds into the meritocratic bullshit of liberalism, because most people feel like they can start their own business and thus can relate to small businesses. Obviously this only works as long as people have something to lose. Once we won’t have anything to lose they’ll have to go back to using physical coercion (fascism etc.).

Yeesh, the YouTube algorithm allegations seeming pretty true. Clicked on a "comedy" short because I thought I spotted a dogwhistle (it was) and when I clicked back to the homepage there were 3 recommendations from reactionary channels.
