No. Even my partner developed a huge Marx beard after he became a full tankie.

Clean shaven is like living willingly under bourgeois control.

Could be. Thanks to the civility bs at least here instutitions fall in line with the fash. It becomes very organized very fast when they can use government power and laws to cement their fashy goals.

I work public sector and it's already very visible. The changes happen on all institutional levels and oppression intensifies sort of automatically almost as the system implements itself according to the laws these fascists write. This is the weimar situation all over again in many ways.

In Finland news:

A fash minister is defending MPs attending a literal Nazi march on independende day. These nazis have been doing this march for years and are very much warming up the tropes of the beginning of last century with both their rhetoric and for example clothing.

"Purra wrote that the Finns Party neither condones undemocratic practices nor far-right activities."

Just need to add that Purra and her party the Basic Finns is literally a nazi party, they are openly far-right and their leader is a guy who openly fantazises about killing people in his blog. Purra herself has done the same on a forum, those comments became public about a year ago and were swiftly swept under the rug.

The bourgeoisie media and politicians are in parts pretending outrage and in parts silent about this. The reactionaries are calling this free speech and co-opting all the liberal talking points of both sides and nuance. Basic everyday people mostly don't realize how big of a deal normalizing nazis is or have bought the spin that these reactionaries are just "patriots" which is indeed what the same media that now pretends outrage has been pushing for years.

They have refused to call them racist, using terms like "immigration critical" instead.

They have refused to call them fascict, using terms like "national-minded" or "patriot" instead.

They have both sized the marches here for years, making news and headlines where the anti-fascist counter-march is demonized.

They have smashed the Overton window years ago and now pretend to be shocked by this.

This is also still framed as not the swastika: I and everyone I know have asked the serious adults when we were kids: "Why is there a swastika in the air force flag?"

And we have all gotten the same splain about how it: "AcHuAlly is not the swastika at all, because it is the other way around and has been used here far longer and for other reasons than the nazis used it, so it's different."

This is even taught this way in schools. Whatever it takes to keep history buried.

I sometimes struggle to communicate how thoroughly history and all actual events have been disappeared from consciousness here, but this is a good example.

Ffs this Lord of Unseriousness thinks the EU, which Finland joined after we got our shock treatment and neoliberalism in the 90s, is what kept us safe. Amazing EU, keeps you safe also in the past!

Yeah. A bra or undies that need to be handwashed anyway are supereasy to just wash in the shower.

Amd tbh I've done far weirder things than this in the shower, alone or with others. But none are such that I would share them here.

[-] StillNoLeftLeft@hexbear.net 22 points 5 days ago

I've washed my workout clothes by going in the shower with them. Doing a bit of laundry in the shower is one of my audhd life hacks.

Must be some very favourable conditions if that is the case. From where I am from, most people could not do a month unless they have savings beyond the wage. So this resonates with the people I am around well enough.

[-] StillNoLeftLeft@hexbear.net 11 points 6 days ago

Oh this is amazing! heart-sickle

[-] StillNoLeftLeft@hexbear.net 7 points 6 days ago

Currently enjoying this too. My cycle is so short I feel like I am bleeding all the time. And it is so heavy, I hate working on these days so much.

Can't wait to grow old enough for this to stop. So over it.

In Finland news:

They are now trying to blame China for the cable damage.

Hilariously at the same time there is reporting that Finnish boomers love Temu.
