Last time I checked it was nearly unanimous with only 1 nay... Didn't realize the Dems had such power.
Hypocracy on display. Trump spent 4 years demanding the Democrats release the files, scoring political points on the right. Now it's projection all over again.
I'm sure there are several people in the Democratic party who were part of this. That does not matter. bad is bad. I don't care if you otherwise appear to have similar values to me.
He told them to pass the bill and is acting like he was somehow betrayed... its all for a scam that we can only guess at currently...
My money is on them removing their own names like everyone assumes...
Or find a way not to release them even after the vote.
Why he was suddenly "onboard":
He thought that the Democrats were bluffing, thinking that Trump would veto. With the threat of Trump actually passing, they would get too scared that their sacred cow Clinton getting caught up.
He might have been assured by the DOJ that the files were safe to release (now).
His demand to get investigations going again locks the files back up. An official in an interview basically said as much, that starting investigations would b block "portions of the files" regardless of this bill.
Once the MAGAs knew that it would pass, they new that their No votes would be used to bludgeon them in the 2026 Midterms, which are going to be brutal enough without that.
Despite this, they are ALL complicit in the delay of releasing these files, with plenty of rationalization on record to quote on campaign attack ads. They can still be beaten with the Epstein Files, and everything else they've fucked up.
So... he's going to use the documents, which now show only Democrat names, because they were scrubbed, to get back at the Dems for forcing the release of the scrubbed documents?
This makes zero sense. If we play along with the ruse that the documents only ever showed Democrat names, why would he be mad that the documents are being released? On the other hand, he agreed to release the obviously scrubbed documents knowing he's not implicated, and for which the Rs voted too, so why would he retaliate over that?

The fact that they've held on to this info for so long, and have never officially identified anybody, tells me that there are a LOT more Republican names than Dem names. Otherwise, they would have been screaming the names from the top of the Washington Monument.

I can see 3 possibilities.
- Full uncensored release of the files -highly unlikely.
- a heavily edited and censored version with Donny’s name taken out bluntly.
- A couple of pages of people’s names that the White House and Donny picked. And whatever happens afterwards I feel like Donny will start a war with Venezuela to try to keep the media from totally focusing on the Epstein files.
4: Someone who doesn't like Trump releases the uncensored files, in retribution for something. If your future is ended by Trump, might as well have him hanging from the same scaffold.
1,000 FBI agents have seen them. Hundreds of victims know what's in there. Senate committees, courts. I don't think substantial modifications will be occurring anymore, it's been frozen since March when they hastily redacted Trump's name "as a private citizen"
Or one man could replace Trump's name in the documents with Gavin Newsom in black sharpie and arrest him. The truth hasn't mattered for years.

A few months ago, every single Republican voted no, every single one, and now all but one voted yes. Its amazing how the entire Congress will line up to protect a child molester ring.
