The Georgia representative's revelation comes after Trump rescinded his support and suggested he would back a primary challenger against her.

"I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world. The man I supported and helped get elected," Greene wrote in a post on X on Saturday.

In recent days, Greene and three other Republican House lawmakers faced pressure from the White House to remove their names from a House petition that will force a floor vote on a measure calling for the Justice Department to release files it has related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Greene has doubled down on her support for releasing the files, writing in her social media post about the new threats she's receiving that, "I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel."

Ah, she's experiencing the life of the average American now.

[–] phaedrus@piefed.world 44 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I hope she keeps pushing, I'm willing to risk her life for this

[–] luciferofastora@feddit.org 7 points 1 day ago

~~Some~~ One of ~~you~~ her might die, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

This is the least shocking thing about their squabble.

Person who plays with fire is surprised to learn that she is in danger of being burned.

Alternatively, leopards and faces.

Alternatively, bulls and feces.

Did she meet her own constituents?

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 65 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Must be that Radical Left Antifa

[–] wheezy@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago

Can confirm. As CEO of Antifa I have put all our AI bots into fueling fascist infighting.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 day ago

Yeah no shit, this is how they operate.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

What do you know. All it took was a speck of empathy.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 29 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is why nobody wants to speak out against him - he pardoned like 1000 people willing to commit violence in his name.

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Isn't the entire military people willing to commit violence in the President's name?

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 34 points 1 day ago

Well, that's typical MAGA. Call in some death threats. She should know this by now.

[–] khepri@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Oh? And how many random people have gotten death threats because of your unhinged rhetoric in the past Marge? You got to eat your share of faces, now the worm has turned ya psycho.

[–] Theprogressivist@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago

Seems Donnie Blowhard is scared.

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

Lay with pigs.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Conservatives are terrorists.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

According to the FBI’s own website, this might qualify.

It most definitely fits that definition when I read it, but I'm sure someone could try to argue it not being in court

[–] Corngood@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety

Sounds like she's not getting serious threats, but she's getting targeted marketing / extortion from security firms.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

How I assume this works is those firms are watching social media. They see an increase in threats, which is real, but is also an opportunity for them to sell their services, so they take screenshots and use it to sell themselves. It's not made up. It's just useful. We've seen the threats over and over anytime someone deviates from Trump.

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That and I’m pretty sure she’s the asshole that kept bringing a gun into chambers. She’s been the threat to almost everyone else until this moment.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

She also planted pipe bombs on Jan6 while wearing a mask.

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If they’re spelled correctly, we know they’re not from Trump himself.

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Please use quotation marks and cite your source. She’s a congress critter. Show some respect.

Ok, honestly though, it wouldn't be that surprising if MTG got charlie kirked

[–] bytesonbike@discuss.online 14 points 1 day ago

I dunno about that. The Charlie Kirk assassin had a lot of messaging similar to Nick Fuentes and his Groyper followers but we're not allowed to talk about that. And MTG has some connections to Nick Fuentes.

Then again, that was a few years ago, and again, we're not allowed to talk about any of that because of American Censorship.

[–] mereo@piefed.ca 17 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It's good that she's against Trump. Now that she has been betrayed by MAGA, she will become their biggest opponent.

[–] Broadfern@lemmy.world 30 points 1 day ago (1 children)

She’s probably trying to get ahead of the administration collapsing on itself. The entirety of this stint is for her own gain, so don’t be surprised if she turns on a dime if it suits her aims.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 day ago

I suspect you're right, but I also suspect she actually does care about pedophilia. That's a big part of what she ran on, and at least she's following through even when it turns out the people she was supporting are actually the people involved. I don't like the woman, but she seems to have more moral determination than most politicians. She's just incredibly stupid and gullible.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 day ago

She’s still all-in on MAGA — just not Trump.

There’s an old saying about that… “You made your bed, now you have to lay in it”

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago
[–] TallonMetroid@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

“I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel.”

Surprised she has the self awareness to realize that her experiences still don't really compare to being sex trafficked.

[–] blave@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

In a fight between these two, only the audience stands to gain

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Duh. She's a woman. maga freaks hate women and minorities.

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I doubt it. MTG has always been a true believer in QAnon and MAGA; her principles are horrible dogshit, but unlike Trump and co they are principles.

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

They fucked up by letting her in and then pissing her off, she’s a special kind of spiteful and stubborn.

[–] DeICEAmerica@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Trump supporters probably make what do you think folks, 1000+ death threats a day? What's the over / under ?

They make them to democrats and anyone that even suggests Trump follow our laws. These are the people that will need reeducation when this is all over. The USA minus Trump equals several million fucktards still left that get to vote who should be incarcerated in the same jails ICE has filled instead.

i've had two legitimate death threats when i lived in "liberal" states. i've lost count of how many i got when i lived in republican states. seemed to be part of standard conversation there.

[–] IEatDaFeesh@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

"... fueled and egged..."

egg

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

Oh no .... anyway.

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Sounds like she's getting what she gives. This should be fun.
