/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags.
Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

Season 4 let's gooooo! 🥹
i know im so excited!!
Had an argument with my dad about The Orville. He said it was too 'woke' and political. I told him that's exactly what makes it feel like good classic Trek.
Has your dad watched classic trek recently? Its mostly woke.
That's what I don't get. It's like the people saying Sesame Street has gotten too woke. Were you even paying attention the first time? That's what I liked about many episodes of The Orville: it felt like classic Star Trek because it was pushing the envelope of social and philosophical issues through a sci-fi lens.
He asked me if he would like SNW and I wasn't sure what to tell him. The cast may be more diverse, but honestly the plots have largely been focused on action.
Babylon 5?
Came here to say this.
Continues is amazingly good.
More than it has any right to be
This and The Orville.
Stargate?
I am the great and powerful Oz!
You give us your ranking from best to worst show, in your personal opinion. Then we all get to argue about it and have fun.

I'll make a post of it after some thought. Gotta tease the crowd before stirring them up into a fervor.
Not op, but this is definitive, so we can get into an argument when your list is slightly different

Time to start watching Gundam
I started that path, I've only hit highlights.
Edit: it's all good so far, but I sadly don't have subtitle Time, so only dubs are in my future. (I'm usually doing something else while it plays)
You can watch a large chunk of UC with dubs. ZZ isn't dubbed, and a few of the newest ones aren't dubbed yet, but otherwise it's probably one of the more accessible anime to get into. If you've only seen highlights I would say it's a good time to just start episode 1 of 0079 and roll it. It's not like every episode is amazing, but it's fun and cool to see where the story begins.
UC or non-UC?
When I say Gundam I mean UC. Some of the other shows are entertaining, but they don't feel like real Gundam to me. UC has hard sci-fi elements, political, space and mech battles. It's a mix that hits pretty hard for me. Most of the non-UC shows are either goofy, or not 'real robots', or set mostly on earth.
Good answer 🙂
Yes

when I realize I have no new treks to watch

Now do it all in chronological order
And then in random order.
You have to watch Star Trek Continues, it picks up immediately where ToS left off.
Yes, it's a fan show, but it's got absolutely fantastic sets, sound, acting and writing, it goes above and beyond.
It's really top notch, and I was so sad when they stopped making it!

"And ummthatguy wept, for there were no more Treks to watch."
also worth checking out Babylon 5 and Stargate SG-1 if you haven't already, both have a lot of Trek in their DNA (and in B5's case there was cross-polination in both directions)
Fire up the beta canon!
Start on TrekLit! Seriously...join me; you'll (probably) love it.
I started with "A Stitch in Time" because I've wanted to read it forever, and now I've gone through that plus two trilogies and am on 4 out of 5 books in the "Star Trek: Picard" sequel/interquel series.
Hard copies might be difficult / expensive to obtain since many of them are out of print, but ebooks [dot] com has most of them available DRM-free if you've got an e-reader or don't mind reading on your phone. A couple of the newer ones are DRM-only so I had to buy them and high-seas a DRM-free version lol. From what I've noticed, it seems like the publisher doesn't release the DRM-free version until 5 years after initial release. So, ethical piracy is my solution to that.
Here's some gems from the one I'm reading now (ST Picard: Firewall). It's about Seven's time with the Fenris Rangers

This. Some of the best Trek is non-canon. Personally I’d recommend anything by Diane Duane or the Reeves-Stevenses.
or the Reeves-Stevenses
DS9: Millennium was fantastic. Third book seemed like it had some filler and drug on a bit too long in certain areas, but overall the whole trilogy was great. Arla Rees, though.....ugh. lol
then you watch all of star wars
will that get me crucified in this community?😂
Plankton Farts and Dies of course
Time to start again
Play some games.
Star Trek Elite Force is basically a Voyager episode, complete with Voyager episode opening.
Star Trek Klingons Academy is really good, but it does have a few bugs.
If you're more tactical, perhaps try Star Trek Starfleet Command. There are three games and they're all on GOG.
Of course, you could pick up Sins of a Solar Empire for a fart and three marbles on the grey market. Then you can down the stellar Star Trek mods for it, like Star Trek Armada III or Ages of the Federation.
Star Trek Armada IV mod for Sins of a Solar Empire II just came out in alpha.
Adding Star Trek 25th Anniversary and Judgement Rites to the list. An amazingly good duo if you don’t mind ‘90s graphics.
Star Trek Online is a free-to-play MMORPG that picks up some abandoned threads and is still getting new content and updates, brings back actors for VO. The downside is how grindy it is.
Fun fact, the Odyssey class of the Ent-F was first introduced in STO, as we're 1 or 2 other newer classes seen in PIC
Easy, get amnesia then watch Star Trek again for the first time!
Stargate.
Next, read all the fan zines from the 70s.
