You must post before you leave

Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Use content warnings and/or mark as NSFW when appropriate. Most posts with content warnings likely need to be marked NSFW.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Avoid shilling for corporations, posting advertisements, or promoting exploitation of workers.

Proselytization, support, or defense of authoritarianism is not welcome. This includes but is not limited to: imperialism, nationalism, genocide denial, ethnic or racial supremacy, fascism, Nazism, Marxism-Leninism, Maoism, etc.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

Weaponised autism.

Holy fuck. She didn't just know it's potential, she was one of us. She was sending us a message.

Except I'm AuDHD and I'm not sure what the message was

You gotta fight, for your right, to end apartheid.

What Israel did to her is disgusting. Not surprising, but their cruelty never ceases

greta is amazing i don't understand why grown ass men are so afraid of her on twitter.

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 17 points 2 months ago

Ass men are notorious cowards at any age.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 13 points 2 months ago

Cause they're gormless cowards who were told to hate her? Frankly speaking if you ever get the chance compare a garden variety cut off from media dipshit to one that is balls deep into watching fuckwads like Jordon Peepeeman and Charlie Owmyneck.

[–] gerryflap@feddit.nl 11 points 2 months ago

Because she tends to fight for things they people know to be true, but just have accepted to ignore because it makes their life simpler. Getting confronted with being a bad person tends to make people defensive, especially if it's a young girl doing that to "though" men. These guys can't handle criticism like that because it hurts their ego

Ha! I have that same shirt. I have never worn it in public yet, but maybe I will now find an excuse to.

[–] fossilesque@mander.xyz 32 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I need to know where you got it, for science.

[–] JimVanDeventer@lemmy.world 38 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

The AliExpress algorithm apparently knows me intimately and I didn’t even have to search for it. Seems like “autism skeleton shirt” will get you there, though.

It has also suggested shirts that say things like “I eat cement.” How does it know!?

They got trained on our socials and are becoming sentient. 🥺

Makes sense that she'd be autistic. Double empathy is crazy. Every time I hear about what she's doing, I legitimately wish I could go with her.

[–] AlexanderTheDead@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago

It's interesting to me, I'm pretty sure it's been very public/very talked about common knowledge that she is autistic since she first started making waves. Like it was probably her primary/only descriptor in headlines for a long time.

The worst thing about this, is that those who deserve to suffer the least, suffer the most. She is fairly vulnerable, and can't take what they will do to her. They will make an example of her.

Not going to lie, I really want to straight up nuke Israel at this point.

[–] 0x0@lemmy.zip 10 points 2 months ago

Violence begets violence and there are a few israelis who are against all of this for the right reasons, but i get your feeling.
Turning all those "holly" sites into radioactive wasteland would solve a lot of issues.

[–] foggianism@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago

Should we completely dismiss what this girl is doing because she has no clue, or do we read into what statements she could make through images on her T-shirt because she might have a hidden agenda? What is it, zios?

[–] MrNesser@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

Looks like a compfy T-Shirt

[–] Knightfox@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (9 children)

Shirt is cool, Lemmy is an echo chamber

[–] whoisearth@lemmy.ca 21 points 2 months ago (7 children)

Everywhere is an echo chamber you just need to recognize what it's echoing and not getting caught up in it.
