I feel like there's a wise and healthy middle ground between being completely unpleasant/making no effort not to be unpleasant (which comes naturally to most properly socialized and not antisocial folks, tbh) and being a doormat, right?
Yeah, it's called "be pleasant as long as you get something out of it" 😎
Sure, and getting some comfortable sleep at night knowing you were a net positive to your community at the very least with words (which are cheaper than actions too!) should be the main thing you get out of it. 😅
