New: Bidenworld explodes at Harris over the book excerpt after years of simmering tensions. "Vice President Harris was simply not good at the job," said one former Biden White House official. "She had basically zero substantive role in any of the administration's key work streams, and instead would just dive bomb in for stilted photo ops that exposed how out of depth she was."

Biden is "not the reason she struggled in office or tanked her 2019 [presidential] campaign," the ex-official said. "Or lost the 2024 campaign, for that matter. The independent variable there is the vice president, not Biden or his aides."

Oh no, mommy and daddy are doing liberal infighting. clown-to-clown-communicationclown-to-clown-conversation

No, Biden very clearly was fundamental to the 2024 loss.

Now, if she had been able to run a full campaign, if he had stepped aside from the very start, then yes we'd probably still be here today with Trump in office. But she was not given the space to fail on her own merits.

[–] anotherspinelessdem@lemmy.ml 80 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Absolutely, the person who got like 3% of the Dem primary vote had horrendous popularity, but Biden also made absolute sure she wouldn't even be allowed to fail on her own merits.

[–] livejamie@lemmy.zip 51 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I lived in Oakland during that time, and she didn't even win there. I remember seeing graffiti of her as a cop.

they gave her the old glass cliff treatment but she would've certainly also failed on her own merits so i'm not sure it counts

She had basically zero substantive role in any of the administration’s key work streams

...and had she made that her campaign slogan, she might have actually won.

[–] vegeta1@hexbear.net 36 points 3 days ago

Woooooooow thats a bar

How do you post an image without a spoiler?

[–] ThermonuclearEgg@hexbear.net 37 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Hexbear doesn't let you do that, it's a site policy from an issue years back with people trying to post inappropriate content

[–] Sithlorddahlia@hexbear.net 22 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Gotcha, thanks for the info!

I take it that the clown images in op's post are those emoji images that aren't spoilered because they have been pre-approved?

[–] ThermonuclearEgg@hexbear.net 30 points 3 days ago

That is one of Hexbear's many emoji, in this case :clown-to-clown-communication: and :clown-to-clown-conversation:

Emoji from our site have been added by the admins so they should be exempt from the spoiler

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 22 points 3 days ago

If you go into your account settings you can uncheck "Blur images" at the bottom and the site won't automatically blur images for you

not to defend kamala at all but that quote about her being out of her depth and having zero substantive role in the administration, in relation to biden who was napping the entire time (and when he wasn't napping he was just struggling to stay awake) and was definitely not the one making decisions or steering the ship is pretty funny.

[–] BynarsAreOk@hexbear.net 17 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Pretty much this and napping is putting it mildly. Biden was making constant gaffes and wouldn't remember the names of world leaders and stuff, and this idiot had the nuke codes... supposedly.

What is even worse is how they had to keep him on all kinds of medications just to stay awake for 15 minutes to give a press conference. To be clear Biden deserves to suffer all kinds of hellish torture you can imagine imo, but what the "Biden team" did to him in the last 2 years(probably longer) is still unironically elderly abuse if it was any other normal person and society.

So on one side dissing on the incompetent grifter second in charge.

On the other side unironicaly treating your fave as a human puppet on a string while he cries in pain half the time while shitting his pants and not remembering the name of the people next to him the other half the time.

[–] somename@hexbear.net 21 points 3 days ago

If they won, they won, and if they lost, they could left bash and fundraise. It was all upside.

If that is true what is said about Harris; it makes the Biden administration look even worse for last minute switching her out without a convention to vote for most eligible.

Obviously both Harris and Biden were incompetent, each in their own ways. They were the wrong people at the worst time

[–] livejamie@lemmy.zip 47 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It was pretty jover when the first Trump assassination attempt happened, fully jover after the last debate they had.

Then Kamala ran on a platform of "nothing will change and we'll have the most powerful army ever" and sent Bill Clinton tell the Arabs in Dearborn to lowkey chill.

[–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 43 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Also basically the same immigration policy as the Republicans with her volcel-kamala speech

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 19 points 3 days ago

Worse, she literally called Trump weak on immigration and said she would be harder on them lmao

[–] Runaway@lemmy.zip 27 points 3 days ago (2 children)

If she never had a significant role why the fuck was she made the nominee? That argument doesn't make Biden look better. Idiots. Every single person in that white house.

[–] YOuLibsWoulD@hexbear.net 10 points 3 days ago

So funny to see them finally admit how full of shit they all are by fighting over each other's failures.

Vice President Harris was simply not good at the job

So you're saying that on top of everything else, Biden was terrible at picking a running mate?

[–] SerLava@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago

no he picked the perfect running mate, someone that nobody would want to run in his place. He just didn't expect to be THAT demented by 2024

[–] Thordros@hexbear.net 41 points 3 days ago (1 children)

preemptively, as a last resort.

It's like Astroworld but way deadlier

[–] footfaults@lemmygrad.ml 25 points 3 days ago

Damn whoever decided to make Kamala VP should be fired. Wonder who that was.

Oh well

[–] diego_maradona@hexbear.net 25 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

all these psychopaths knew and hid biden's dementia for 5 years just to stop bernie winning in 2020 and to stop bernie running in 2024. they didn't care about the general, though would have liked to win obviously. None of these peoples' lives are ruined now that Trump won. They had way more to lose if Bernie won. They knew if they lost they could always just blame it all on Biden, which is exactly what Harris is doing("107 days" waaaaaaaaaa cry more).

If trump's fbi decided to go after everyone involved in the cover-up, I'd support it.

"Vice President Harris was simply not good at the job," said one former Biden White House official. "She had basically zero substantive role in any of the administration's key work streams, and instead would just dive bomb in for stilted photo ops that exposed how out of depth she was."

So exactly like Biden was as VP?

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 25 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That's not true, Biden managed to keep 'negotiating' with McConnell (by giving McConnell whatever he wanted)

Circular firing squad

[–] sodium_nitride@hexbear.net 14 points 3 days ago (2 children)

The stakes were simply too high. This wasn't a choice that should have been left to an individual's ego, an individual's ambition."

The liberati is on its first steps towards discovering democratic centralism.

Harris was now using Democratic Party resources to sell a book that could divide the party.

Bourgeoise electoralism is a spoils system

"There were others on the Biden team, though, who really tried to help her thrive as VP. But she and her team did not seize that support and make the most of it. It is all a tragedy."

Anyway, the whole article is literred with vague shit like this and I don't really know what is meant by "support" or "she didn't make the most of it". I'm not sure the staffer knows either.

[–] SnuggleButt@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago

No one knows because it feels like it was the most astroturfed campaign ever. I mean it was as astroturfed as the kind liberal reaction towards Charles’ death. One day Biden is running and the next literally everyone is now behind Harris and they’re posting about her as if she’d been building a campaign for months at that point and finally cinched the nomination

There was more genuine support for killary than this ghoul. Might as well have ran her for round 2

The liberal implosion from this would be so funny if this got wider coverage

[–] VapeNoir@hexbear.net 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Who are the die-hard Biden partisans so desparate to defend this rising star in the party?
