If she never had a significant role why the fuck was she made the nominee? That argument doesn't make Biden look better. Idiots. Every single person in that white house.

Can't they, meaning Dems, just read them on the Senate or House floor to make them part of public record with no barriers?

is something actually stopping them or are they just protecting pedophiles while doing a bit of theater about it?

I'm sure the sort of was cuz he knew he'd get in trouble for stating the obvious and was trying to hedge his language. Like "I didn't def say x cause y, just that it maybe kind of did".

I mean political violence has always been a feature of American history. We don't need this to show it

Always has been. Whenever someone says "this is not who we are" they are willfully lying or have had a very poor history education. We can aspire to be better but for all of American history, political violence has been a feature.

The states aren't over but the idea of American democracy is basically dead. The govt is just really fucking broken. Sure the country exists and will continue to do so, but the systems are clearly broken, corrupt, and rotten beyond the capability of the modern political reality to fix.

As far as I can see best we can hope so is dramatic reform, like many many new amendments that completely change how the govt works to the point where it's questionable if it is really the same govt. And the sadly more realistic outcome might be that reform either won't happen or will only come after much suffering and conflict
