Jupiter. It's probably the reason all the other planets didn't get bombarded by shiz and tldr life on earth.

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

doesnt it also attract shiz towards the inner solar system, like Batman does to Gotham?

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I don't know. But clearly Bruce could fix Gotham if he didn't have a vigilante kink.

couldnt Jupiter just be a series of protective rings around the outer solar system and not a large overbearing presence? I didnt vote for Jupiter and its forever status frankly alarms me

[–] Zos_Kia@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 1 month ago

You'd need a tremendous amount of matter (I'd guess much more than 1 Jupiter mass) to significantly protect the solar system from the outside. But then that mass would probably get pulled in by the sun. The reason the outer solar system remains outer is because it is mostly empty.

Pluto. Anyone who says Pluto isn't a planet will get immediately blocked

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's the first discovered object in the Kuiper belt. It has a massive heart. It doesn't need to be a planet to be awesome.

Fair, but your walking a fine line friend

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago

Isnt Pluto Mickey's pet dog?

[–] Klear@quokk.au 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I will call Pluto a planet for the rest of my days.

[–] ashenone@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago

You hear about Pluto? That's messed up right?

Venus. . It's the only planet that has boobs. Earth has boobs on it, sure, but imagine them planet sized!

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 2 points 1 month ago

And if we'd ever colonise it we would probably use massive boob-shaped balloons.

Mars because there is still a decent chance there is microbial life there.

Also Mars is a fascinating juxtaposition to earth, was there at some point plate tectonic recycling on Mars like there is on Earth (which keeps the surface of the Earth chemically dynamic)?

Boys go to Jupiter to get more stupider.

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

could be :-)

[–] spittingimage@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Are we accepting planets that orbit other planets? Because I've always thought Titan was neat. Nasa has a recording of the wind from a probe descender stage.

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago

if it can support life, I'll allow it
