I shit you not, there's a good chunk of this country that thinks russia is or was aligned with nazi germany and telling them they were actually allied would blow their mind. It just so happens that person is JDPON Don in this case.

So many western brainworms don't understand the Soviets, China, Korea, Vietnam, Mexico, India, Brazil, Cuba, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, and a dozen other countries were all part of the Allies. They all contributed troops across several theaters, not to mention resources and weapons. And some of them were fighting the Axis Powers years before France, Great Britain, and the US (China and Ethiopia being prime examples).

It was a collective effort by millions of people to end the war, end the Holocaust, and overthrow fascist governments.

Which is a shame because Mexico had one of the best anti-fascist propaganda posters of the war

[–] Nakoichi@hexbear.net 23 points 3 weeks ago

That goes hard af

mexico is like the one country that can still make eagles look awesome

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 16 points 3 weeks ago

Of course America had to choose the whitest fucking eagle to worship

Yep one of my favorite facts about the global reality of the war is the goofy patch the Brazilians made. They said they'd join the war "when snakes smoke" which is like "when pigs fly." A statement of an impossibility.

Well they joined eventually. And their military patch for the expedition features a snake puffing on a pipe. It's hilarious.

[–] Flyberius@hexbear.net 19 points 3 weeks ago

That's great

Zionists don’t want to talk about the fact that most Arab natations were part of the allies

[–] ClimateStalin@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago

Our schools all but teach this. The beginning of world war 2 is taught as “Germany and Russia team up to invade and divide Poland” and then they never really explain well that the USSR is a part of the allies. They act like Molotov-Ribbentrop was an alliance and not a “We won’t shoot you. Yet.”

the united states pardoned everyone from unit 731 in exchange for their documentation on their human experiments

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 52 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

The Unit 731 experiments weren't anything valuable, either. It was just an excuse to torture people. Like yeah no shit people die when they freeze to death. There wasn't anything scientific regarding hypothesis, control groups, etc. so most of the data obtained was thrown out.

The same was true with "experiments" done by the Nazis.

Just wanted their snuff films.

[–] egg1918@hexbear.net 30 points 3 weeks ago

And a few short years later the United States used biological weapons in Korea

Modern day Russia is not the USSR. Trump’s not saying anything good

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 72 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

☝️🤓modern day russia is not the USSR

no shit

trump’s not saying anything good

he’s correct that people love japan and germany when they fucking suck. also most people don’t hate ww2 era japan enough for the horrible shit they were doing alongside the nazis. not that trump’s stupid ass was saying any of that, but it’s also not that deep. its a post on hexbear dot net’s chapo board. its really not meant to be a serious political statement

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 19 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Yeah, that’s fair, I just don’t like giving it to him because he arrived at the right conclusion in the worst way possible. He says this while threatening BRICS with trade wars should they move away from the US dollar.

Literally the only perspective he’s coming from is the white ethnofascist angle which is fucking dumb because Putin and modern Russia are not as ethnonationalist as his brain is

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 26 points 3 weeks ago

i personally don’t think trump has ever come to a conclusion about anything. he’s completely empty and just says whatever is the most opportunistic thing in that moment, even when it directly contradicts something he just said prior.

It's still the side that upholds the tradition of the red armies, that paid pensions to old red army soldiers, that upkept memorials to soviet soldiers.

Compare that to what other post-soviet countries like Ukraine have done, tearing it all down and putting up a bunch of tacky Nazi-collaborator bullshit. Russia is still the moral superior to the west.

Yet Russia is still crushing nazis while other members of the USSR, namely Ukraine and the Baltics, are very clear about wishing they had fought on the other side.

[–] BanSwitch2Buyers@hexbear.net 19 points 3 weeks ago

Don't take this from us.
