Probably got shut down for being boring as shit and his remaining audience dying of old age
news
Welcome to c/news! We aim to foster a book-club type environment for discussion and critical analysis of the news. Our policy objectives are:
-
To learn about and discuss meaningful news, analysis and perspectives from around the world, with a focus on news outside the Anglosphere and beyond what is normally seen in corporate media (e.g. anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist, Marxist, Indigenous, LGBTQ, people of colour).
-
To encourage community members to contribute commentary and for others to thoughtfully engage with this material.
-
To support healthy and good faith discussion as comrades, sharpening our analytical skills and helping one another better understand geopolitics.
We ask community members to appreciate the uncertainty inherent in critical analysis of current events, the need to constantly learn, and take part in the community with humility. None of us are the One True Leftist, not even you, the reader.
Newcomm and Newsmega Rules:
The Hexbear Code of Conduct and Terms of Service apply here.
-
Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.
-
Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.
-
Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.
-
Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.
-
Archive sites: We highly encourage use of non-paywalled archive sites (i.e. archive.is, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org) so that links are widely accessible to the community and so that reactionary sources don’t derive data/ad revenue from Hexbear users. If you see a link without an archive link, please archive it yourself and add it to the thread, ask the OP to fix it, or report to mods. Including text of articles in threads is welcome.
-
Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.
-
American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.
-
Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.
-
AI Slop: Don't post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.
LOL, LMAO even

Unfortunately his HBO show "Real Time with Bill Maher" is signed for production until the end of 2026.
At which he'll reture and pass the show on to the next generation of genocidal loser
Coming to whatever the fuck HBO is calling itself in 2027, "Real Time with Destiny"
step away from the lathe
no fuck you don't you dare
Club Random Lol XD Holds Up SPORK
Im the Maher of DOOOOOOM!!1! xx. Tee hee
kind of incredible, given that the start up and operating costs of a podcast are less than a potluck book club. this is definitely an embarrassment thing, where somebody tried to sell ad space and the dick pill / sports gambling Head of Promotions was like, "you have six downloads a week. fuck off."
lmao:
A Club Random podcast hosted by former Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst that was initially supposed to focus on UFOs never took off; Semafor could not find any episodes of the show online.
i can hear it now...
"DURST: I saw a UFO, bros. Neptune Beach. 2014. The alien arrived in the middle of the afternoon and beckoned me over. We chilled in his UFO and smoked some of his space weed, which really helped me understand my own music. Then he used this cool magic wand to push magic thoughts into my mouth a bunch of times. I was the only one who could see the UFO on the beach, because it was camouflaged to look like an 1990 Chevy conversion van with a mattress in the back. Then he pulled up his space sweat pants, told me to get out of his UFO, and he drove off heading towards I-95 and into outer space."
The Blink 182 guy is right there. Except I guess I swear to god he disavowed his ufo research later attributing it to vicoden withdrawal after back surgery?
what agencies were recently cut cut again?
I'm sure it's because he didn't try grooming enough 13 year old girls while making awkward trans jokes.
TIL there were other podcasts on Club Random besides Maher’s.
I wonder how the I Hate Bill Maher Podcast is doing...
Yep, still going strong. Fuck you, Bill Maher! 🖕
Sleeper agent Hawk Tuah's sabotage has borne fruit at last.
fucking finally i never want to hear from or of this man for as long as i live
I think people who like Bill Maher are genuinely lower forms of life.
well that's random
please go watch Tim Heideckers remake of club random with Fred Armisen
fucking destroyed him, totally spot on
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ha6D1LQGD4
found it and knowing that it's supposed to be Bill it works, but afaict there's no setup or tipoff at the beginning that he's going to be imitating Bill Maher. is there some clue I'm missing?
The set looks exactly like the one for Bill Maher's podcast, if you're familiar with the aesthetic it's obvious, but if you're not familiar I can understand being very confused.
Tim beefs with him enough that if you follow him you know, but not giving it away is part of Tim's act - just like his comedy special.
He has one about Joe Rogan too but it's much more obvious in the style of conversation, camera work, and set layout. Club Random is just so undistinctive that it's harder to tell.
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
